Yakuza 4

After playing Sleeping Dogs, it's hard to enjoy Yakuza 4. By comparison, the combat sucks and the chase sequence are laughable compared to the ones in Sleeping Dogs

The music is generic too and the story is putting me to sleep. Some nonsense about a boring loan shark guy that I don't give a crap about. Yawn

Damnit! I need something new to play that's actually good

Oh yeah, I forgot about that game. Is there a demo available?

i don't think so. What are you in the mood for? I can give you thoughts on a bunch of new stuff I've picked up in the last month or so...Borderlands 2 is likely my GOTY, if you have even minute interest in that.

I forget - do you have a Vita?

No Vita yet unfortunately

I have actually gone back and forth on whether or not to try Borderlands 2. A few people have recommended it to me now so I'm considering it. I just recently played The Darkness II again, so it wouldn't be that hard for me to jump into another shooter.

Loco Roco PSP
Catrap Game Boy
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions PSP
Scribblenauts DS
Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire GBA
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Wii
Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City Wii
Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge Game Boy

Games on the list: Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge
Games off the list: Hotel Dusk: Room 215

Broke even this month. Hotel Dusk was polished off early, and Mega Man was added simply because I started today. It'll probably get beaten over the weekend. I beat a lot of other games outright this month too.

Hoping to have Animal Crossing polished off by Christmas. The rest will probably wait, doomed to be the games I didn't beat this year.

Scribblenauts DS
Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire GBA
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Wii
Paper Mario: Sticker Star 3DS
Mario Tennis Open 3DS
New Super Mario Bros. 2 3DS

Games on the list: Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Mario Tennis Open, New Super Mario Bros. 2
Games off the list: Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City, Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge

Just realised I never updated this thread for the end of the year to finish up my list of tragically unfinished games in 2012. I'll list individual reasons for each game below:

Loco Roco for PSP is one of the games I bought a PSP for in the first place, but unfortunately I've just not been able to get into it. It's not a bad game, and I'm sure I'll come round to it some day, but when that day is is another matter.

Catrap for Game Boy is a fun little puzzle game with some neat features, but at the point I hit (about half way through the game) the puzzleshave started to get a bit silly with the amount of trial and error and the fun has drained out. It's a good game and I need to give it another chance, but it's certainly not one I can whip through in the next couple of days.

Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions for PSP was a game I picked up at the end of January, just before my first PSP broke, hence it being added to this list. When I picked up another PSP I played through some other stuff before I finally got round to restarting this game in mid-December. I'm still plugging through now, and I expect it to be one of my first beaten games of 2013, but I'm finding it a bit slow going now, not as addictive as the GBA game.

Scribblenauts for DS is a game I want to like, but don't really enjoy. Maybe I just don't have enough imagination, but the puzzles dont seem to suggest many solutions other than a few obvious words (plus I keep running out of new ways to fly outside of 'Jetpack' and 'wings' to get around). I dunno when or if I'll get around to this, I might just sell it, although it's not really worth anything either way.

Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire for GBA is a great little pinball game I really enjoyed. To 'beat' it, you have to pass the Rayquaza bonus stage twice, which requires beating the other two bonus stages on the table twice for each visit to rayquaza. I've managed to get to Rayquaza 2 times before, but the bonus stage is pretty rough and I've never beaten him. This is probably the only game on this list that's here due to difficulty, rather than me just being fed up or bored of the game.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for Wii is a game I played about an hour of for the summer marathon before my Wii was packed up for my move to London. It seems OK, but I've never loved the Prime games quite as much as most people, and I need to be in the right mood to play them. I haven't been in that mood since the move, so I never got back around to this game. Maybe next summer

Paper Mario: Sticker Star for 3DS is a game I picked up in early December and played quite a way through before I got distracted by FF Tactics. The game is fairly enjoyable, but I find it hard to be motivated to play due to the sheer futility of the battle system - it's absolutely pointless. The level based structure isn't my favourite either, as just moving onto further points on the map screen doesn't feel like significant progress in the way previous Paper Mario RPGs did when you unlocked a new area. It's decent, but it really could use a little more purpose to spur me on.

Mario Tennis Open and New Super Mario Bros. 2 for 3DS are both games I got over the Christmas period and just haven't yet had the time to finish. In fact, NSMB 2 I recieved on New Year's Eve, so I don't feel too guilty about either being unfinished yet, as long as they aren't on this list this time next year

A notable thing about all my unfinished games this year is that all but one of them were portable games. This could be because I generally play more portable games than console, but my Games Beaten 2012 stats actually show that I beat a significant amount of console games this year. Personally, I put it down to me trying to beat console games to bring my total number down to 4 or less unbeaten to achieve my 2012 gaming goal, whereas my well played portables were generally already at that point, requiring less commitment if I wasn't enjoying a game as much. Equally, all but 2 of them were for Nintendo consoles, but that can definitely be attributed to me owning far more Nintendo console games than any other company
