Miraculously, I still have power. Here at work now. Some trees down in my driveway I'll have to clean up later. :?

About 15% of people in my town have no power. No issues at my house. A friend came over last night to cook a meal and watch TV since he has no power.

Fortunately, it's around 60 outside so it's not too bad if you don't have heat.

Unbelievably, never lost power. Very lucky.

We had some flickering and house shaking winds, but no worse for the wear. Lee/Irene was about 1000x worse...

I'm assuming you're referring to this power plant, which is the only one I saw reference to.

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?secti ... id=8865906

Which says they have 2 weeks of fuel for backup generators. I think if there was something worse going on there would be more stories going on about it. Sounds like some hysterical tweet was being passed around or something.
Sensationalization.

"The plant's owner, Exelon Corp., said power was also disrupted in the station's switchyard, but backup diesel generators were providing stable power, with more than two weeks of fuel on hand."

It's still a little windy here, but it's died down. I have seen barely any rain at all. I don't see any downed trees around my house or my surrounding neighbors, but I haven't looked in the backyard yet. Also, I think I hear chainsaws going, so there's either downed trees or just really big branches.

@ o.pwuaioc : How you doing? I'm guessing you're without power?

edit: Well I just took a look around real quick. There's one section of fence down, but that's the only damage I've noticed.

edit: I just spoke with my dad on the phone, he went to work this morning. He told me lots of downed trees and power lines. Apparently something like 85% of LI is without power right now, so I'm guessing we wont hear from o.pwuaioc for that reason.

I can't believe the amount of snow some people are reportedly getting. Up to two feet!? From a hurricane? I don't believe I've ever heard, in my lifetime, of a hurricane bringing two feet of snow. Incredible.

Yeah. If we did have any power flickering here I slept through it. A little rain and a little wind, nothing serious.

I still have power, although it did flicker a lot last night. My basement is dry too, which is always a good thing.

But Frankenstorm Sandy still managed to totally knock down/uproot three large trees! Pretty intense stuff!

In middle TN we have heavy winds and the rains will be starting any second now. The weather forecast is showing snow on Saturday, west TN got some snow last night and is supposed to get more tomorrow.

Glad I bought rainx and defogged my lights last night.

Negative - I have power still. Most of Brooklyn is indeed without power, and while there is a downed power line a couple feet from my front door, we somehow still have power.
