Meh.
I lived in Florida when I was 4-7 years old, and I was stuck out on a golf course during hurricane Andrew, so anytime I hear about a hurricane that isn't at least a category 3, I usually just go about my business. I'm not that close to the coast here, though.
I pretty much always have cases of water around, so there's that, at least.

And THIS is why everyone on this site needs a diesel generator for their game rooms.

Why didn't I feel the quake the other day? I'm in Canada. Canada is right next to Minnesota.

Hatteras is expected to have flooding of water four to seven feet above ground level. Yikes. I hope my friends in New Bern and Wilmington fare well.

Pros to the cons, last night was beautiful. Windy, no rain, and the air smelled earthy and smokey. Part of the smokey smell was because I smoked a cigar on the deck last night, but there was a "woodsy" smell in the air.

It looks like it's going over us now, and it's not too bad. If not for the storm surge that they're going to experience up North, I don't think this one would have gotten so much press time.

Yes sir. *

What's crazy is that I saw people raking their leaves and washing their cars on Friday.

Pretty sure we are in the clear.

The winds are starting to really pick up now. I saw on News12 that it's suppose to hit land (NJ) between 5-7PM. I'm guessing sooner rather than later. The power here has flickered off and back on a few times now, and the lights have been blinking pretty steadily. I wouldn't be surprised if the power goes out and stays out for an extended period of time. I'm on my laptop right now. I'll post my updates here, but if you don't hear from me, it's because the power went out.

How are the other LI'ers doing? Anything worth noting? I see the trees whipping around pretty good, and small pieces of my roof all over the place. Other than that, all is good so far.

MA winds are picking up too. Probably not as bad as for you Zigs, but my lights are flickering so I'm guessing we will lose power...
