Now this is an awesome thread! I almost forgot about those things.
My friends and I pretty much all bought the mobile sonic game on our flip Samsung phones. That is the only one I recall playing though.
In terms of mobile versions of console games nowadays, they definitely still exist but most of them are not crappy at all anymore due to the power of Tegra 3 and all that good stuff.
An example would be Mass Effect Infiltrator on Android.
