After Beating Jackal yesterday the thought came to mind that I've played it a few times a year, every year since 1988. Realizing I played the same game one hundred times made me wonder what other games I've played that many times.
I believe my list would read:
Jackal
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out
Duck Tales
NHL 2002
NHL 94
Ninja Gaiden
Blaster Master
Contra
Soul Calibur
Mega Man 2
Street Fighter 2
Missile Command
Tekken Tag
Yar's Revenge
Sonic the Hedgehog
So which games do you honestly believe you've played 100 times, from the beginning?

Re: Games You Have Played Over 100 Times
I didn't have any non-Nintendo systems until 2010.
Anyway, here's my list:
NES
Bubble Bobble
Contra
Kirby's Adventure
Ninja Gaiden
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Game Boy
Kirby's Dream Land
Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Tetris
SNES
Donkey Kong Country
Firepower 2000
Kirby Super Star
The Lost Vikings
NBA Jam
Super Mario World
My list seems deceptively short, but that's because I mainly play RPGs. I don't think it's possible to play through FFVI 100 times.
EDIT: Added two games (Bubble Bobble and NBA Jam) that I had originally forgotten about.

I can't think of any modern game that I'll be likely to play more than 100 times. Possibly Child of Eden since it doesn't take long to beat and still hasn't lost my interest. I really enjoy newer games, but anything that takes over 6 hours to beat I'm not likely to play but maybe a few times. Games "replayability" these days are completely exaggerated.BoneSnapDeez wrote: My list seems deceptively short, but that's because I mainly play RPGs. I need to add Golden Axe and Pit Fighter* (genesis) to my list.
*I did an eighth grade science project called "Segasized" where a few friends and I played Pit Fighter all day and checked for differences in pulse, pupil dilation, and simple hand and eye coordination tests.

Im not going to think about the PC, arcade, or handheld games Ive played over 100 times. That list would be scary. As you can see, most of the games are multiplayer and the lists get smaller over time (every game post 16bit is multiplayer actually). My brothers and I played alot of Atari games during the SNES/Genesis era, and that was when I went through my heavy RPG phase. In the past when I found a game I liked, or that my friends/family liked, I would play that game intensely for a long time. Like when we got heavy into Mario Kart 64, that was really the only N64 game played in our house for a year until we got Goldeneye - then it was 50/50 until OOT.

Mostly Survival and Team Battle actually. Remember I was playing Soul Calibur in college while you were a zygote. Ten team battles a year for over ten years adds up quickly.SamuraiMegas wrote:Soul Calibur.

Another one to add to the list:
NBA JAM

That's a shit ton of Zelda. I've gone thru the game maybe ten times. Next time I get lost in the appropriately named lost forest, I know who to pm.fastbilly1 wrote: NES:

Oh man I need to add this too. Between my SNES copy and the Genesis version (my babysitter had it lol) I probably played it every school day for 4 years straight.Luke wrote:
