That being said, the game kicks ass and it does the film justice. It's a great gem of a game. I highly recommend watching the movie, then playing the game.
Hell yeah; I love The Warriors. I think that was one of the 1st movies I saw that was before my time that I really appreciated. The game is kick ass, too; very well done as far as gameplay and storyline.

"Warriors! Come out and play-yay!"

Anyone mention Rise to Honour yet?

Hmm I need that for my collection. Played it in a gamestore years and years ago.

I mentioned them, but also pointed out that I haven't played them. So brunoafh's point may be valid

Well Yakuza is similar to Shenmue but it's more streamlined and the PS3 games have tons of side attractions. The story is awesome too, up there with proper Yakuza movies in some instances. I actually hacked the PS2 save of Yakuza 2 to screw around in the various venues, as Japan is notoriously expensive  .. It's like a sandbox but without all the driving and mindless shooting of other games. The brawling is more fun than Shenmue as well, and is essential to the nature of the series' protagonists.

Yeah, the brawling has my interest. It is the thing I enjoyed most about Sleeping Dogs. They did a pretty decent job of mimicking Asian martial arts movies and along with Batman Arkham City, Sleeping Dogs has some of best modern, 3d beat 'em up action I've seen this gen. I think if Sleeping Dogs stripped away all of the open world, GTA style stuff and was a straight beat 'em up, it would have still been a noteworthy title

If you're not opposed to out of date mods, Action Half-Life and The Specialists still have a few people playing them on Steam.

Pity the movie doesn't do justice to the game. Great game, but the movie is terrible. I like cheesy, campy 70's movies, I enjoy watching so-bad-it's-good movies (I've seen The Room seven times on the big screen) but The Warriors was one of the biggest cinematic disappointments I've ever had the displeasure to watch.
