If not, you can watch it here, like I did. And I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
I'd been expecting the story to be drastically different from what I grew up with for two big reasons. For one, the recent Michael Bay kerfuffle had me paranoid. For two, a Ninja Turtles coloring book based on the show which I'd gotten as a silly gift (don't judge me! It came with temporary tattoos so I know you're just jealous
The show may be for the kiddies, but it's in the spirit for sure. It's also been infused with a much stronger Japanese feel with stuff like anime tropes (e.g. cross-popping veins), stylized music, and even a couple of Japanese words sprinkled into the dialog. All together it adds a great touch that amounts to something greater than simply making sense within the story.
I'd also had my doubts about the CGI style when I saw a preview on YouTube, being that I hadn't particularly liked the look of the 2007 TMNT movie -- but I found these visuals to even be beautiful at times. They're deliberately evocative of Eastman and Laird's comic style, which is really, really cool.
Anyway, I'd love to hear other people's thoughts.
Oh, and was anyone else amused when
