Frown: This.
There are always two sides of the coin, but it is difficult to judge who is in the wrong here. I'm fine with admitting I haven't done any research on pornhub, nor do I wish to visit their site. But the story from HuffPo states thy are willing to donate proceeds to breast cancer foundations; one being the Kormen Foundation.
The Kormen Foundation rejected the cash donation as they understandably do not want their foundation to be linked to a porn site. Fair enough. But when looking at the Kormen Foundation, they aren't looking for a cure or research, rather "awareness and education".
Simple solution: Have the porn site donate to an undisclosed cancer research company where the money goes to advancements in medicine/cancer research and not printing pink ribbons.
Having NFL players wear pink to raise awareness is a joke as well. People are very aware of breast cancer. I doubt many players are wearing pink to honor a lost loved one, and a percentage of their overpaid salaries would do much more than letting us know that cancer still exists. At least we do have the option to donate to the American Cancer Society.
Smile: It's finally below 80 degrees.

My best friend was in a bad wreck over the weekend with his dad. He came out with some stitches and scratches, his dad is alright but broke a few ribs and some blood was clogged in his lungs, so he's staying in the hospital for awhile.
Glad they made it and nothing fatal happened to anyone involved. The crazy thing is my friend starts a new job tomorrow and we're moving later this week, if he's still up for it. I told him if he can't work, it's as simple as that, you shouldn't work and your health is more important. Sounds like he'll be fine and pull it off though.
Just reminds me of my wreck years ago that kind of messed up my neck/shoulders for life. Not good times.
Glad he's alright though!

Ha ha. See if I recommend any movies for you anymore.Hobie-wan wrote:Holy craps! No detailed movie reviews for 2 weeks?Michi wrote:Well, we're leaving in a couple of hours, so if I can't find some free wifi, I'll see you in two weeks racketeers!
PANIC!
I mean uh, have a safe fun trip.
Oh, and if anyone couldn't tell, I managed to find some free wifi. We're having a good time so far. We spent over 12 hours traveling, so we ended up going to bed a little early and sleeping slept for 10 hours to get over the jetlag. Today was sort of a 'chill' day. Tomorrow we're going Pearl Harbor and Downtown, Tuesday we're going to Diamond Head, and on Wed. we're off to Maui. We'll be relaxing in spades.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Smiled - Found a house that is almost perfect
Ticked - Turns out that even though the paperwork and listing said no HOA, there is an HOA
Smiled - The HOA is being dissolved at the end of the calender year
Ticked - Someone else put in an offer on the house while we were viewing it
Smiled - Their bid was a lowball, so we are going to put in our bid slightly under asking price (actual home value is 30k higher than listed). And per our Agent, since we are making a very aggressive bid, we should get our offer accepted this week.
Ticked - Being that it is Columbus day, the banks are closed and I cant make the bid until tomorrow.
Smiled - All paperwork will be ready to go first thing in the morning.
In summation - Hopefully by the end of the week we will have our bid accepted on our house.
It is more house than we were planning on, but most everyone is upside down on starter houses, so we had to get a slight step up. Itll be a good game of balancing things for a while. The house it self is sound, no structural issues, only cosmetic - cracked drywall, columns and handrails need to be replaced out front, MAJOR landscaping in the backyard (they just let the brush grow up over half of the backyard and there are some dead trees we will have to pull down), and the privacy fence needs to be repaired - gates shouldnt be holding on solely by the pin... But this is all manageable and easily doable. I dont own a chainsaw and a tractor for nothing!

Better to have a little more house than you were planning on. It lets you expand without having to uproot.

This. Any extra house you have initially will either eventually get filled with random crap you would have had to throw out otherwise, or your family will grow larger and need the room. And having lived both in houses that were larger and smaller than my family needed at the time, I can tell you I'd take the overlarge house every time.MrPopo wrote:Better to have a little more house than you were planning on. The day I move from the house I live in now is the day I'm actually buying. It's a long ways off, but I'm looking forward to that time.

Ofcourse on both points. Just a little more house means more on the mortgage. Which means we have to do a 30 year instead of a 15.BoringSupreez wrote:This. True, but if things go well you can always put down additional principle every month and bring it down to an effective 15 year.fastbilly1 wrote:Ofcourse on both points.
