I treated some F*cker to McDonalds and Rite-aid.

Because debit cards and prepaid cards cannot be the victim of fraud.

I only use cash, and prepaid cards are only good for the money I put on them, which will be the exact amount needed and no more. I avoid anything that could leave me in debt like the plague. If I can't afford it, then I don't need it.

Also (normal) hotels and car rental places are happy to accept huge cash deposits upfront. Also also people carrying large amounts of cash are never robbed or pickpocketed.

Not like I flash cash or anything. I've never had more than a Benjamin on me at once. Don't need it, I don't buy much. I only spend decent to large amounts of money when a girl is involved.

Ahh, the joys of 12 months interest-free financing on a new heat pump.

This is not a strong argument against credit cards. I purchase absolutely everything on my credit card and pay it off in full each month. I certainly do not use it to purchase anything I cannot afford. What I gain from credit cards are the convenience of NFC (virtually all cards here in Canada have it) and I earn enough in points each month to buy around $60 worth of free groceries. You are actually losing money if you do not use a credit card, because every card comes with some sort of reward system that can be put to practical use.

I got an email from one of my card companies telling me there were some odd charges on my account. I called them up, let them know it wasn't me, and that was that. I hadn't used that card in several months at the time this happened, so I don't know where it could have been compromised.

I wont say only use cash, but its probably best to do so at restaraunts and fast food joints. From what Ive heard, those are the two places where your card will most likely be compromised.
