And all it cost me was my debit card being cloned.

Fucking scammers.

I live in extreme So Cal, and The card was used both in Pensylvania and Miami.

The scammers were testing the card to see if it would go thru. $2.00 at a McDonalds and $1.00 at a Rite-aid in Pennsylvania. The Criminal tried to buy $36.00 gas but was denied.

This happened on Saturday and today (sunday as I write this), I checked my voice mail, Got a call from my bank saying there were some strange charges.

Called them back and after the general questions, The operator had to cancel my card. I should be getting a new one in a couple of days.

Happened tome a while back. They got my CC and my ATM card somehow. I'm in Texas, and within a week of each other, gas and groceries in California. Got my crap sorted and I didn't lose any money, but really annoying. Happened to my ATM first and I told my bank no rush for a new card since I had my CC available. Then that was screwed. Good thing I didn't need gas or groceries that week.

Charges got reversed and my card got cancelled, but I was the one who noticed the strange charge, not my bank.

I had my credit card once be used to buy perfume in France. I got the call from the company that there were some suspicious charges.

one of my facebook friends had the same thing happen to her some time ago.

She lost out on $700 bucks.

Took her a while to get the money back.

Happened to me last year. Card # was stolen and some a-hole went wild spending - $800 bucks at Wal-Mart (online) and $700 at some girls clothing store (also online). My wife is an obsessive account balance checker and she noticed while the charges were still pending. Went to the bank and sorted everything out. Bank said it wasn't worth the hassle to try to press charges.

me too just a week or two ago. Wifey caught it same day as the charge was pending, a $10 purchase at Walmart in Fl. In my case, the bank would not have thought it suspicious since i have been doing quite a bit of traveling for work lately. We're pretty sure the thieves were "testing the waters" to see if we would catch it. If my wife would not have, i'm sure we would have found much much larger purchases popping up. The bank cancelled out the card number and sent me a new one in about 4 days and refunded us the $10 back. I feel sorry for those who get much more taken from them

I had 2500 taken from a mobile card reader on my debit card. I was without it for 4 days as it was pending but the charge finally fell off and didn't go through

Someone keeps trying to scam my church out of money via our website. They keep sending emails to our host claiming they are us asking for a refund and to shut down service. So every couple of weeks I get a nice email from their fraud department. Jokes on them, we pay like $37 for the year for hosting.

I had two fraudulent charges on my debit card once, many years ago. I lived in Ohio, and some clown in Florida got a hold of my debit card info somehow. He signed up for two pay porn sites. The idiot actually gave his full name and address to the company, so we knew who he was and where he lived. I had to sign a sworn statement that I didn't make the charges, and my bank refunded the money. I have no idea if the bank went after the guy.
