That's good, but what isn't good, is those are current generation games. Wii U should be part of the next generation and they really need to convince players it's more than just a Wii with the power of a PS3/360. They have a long way to go to make the Wii U a success in my opinion. The Wii was a huge success, but that doesn't mean the bubble can't burst.BlackDS wrote:I think that fact that games like Mass Effect 3 and Assassins creed 3 are launch titles is of great significance. The WiiU will have better 3rd party support on day 1 than the wii had in 7 years. Good news for anyone on the fence between a Ps3, xbox, and WiiU.

$60 Zelda and Mario coming your way."The vast majority of Wii U software will be $59.99. From a first-party perspective. Third parties set their own pricing," Fils-Aime told me, meaning that Nintendo fans would generally be paying $10 more per first-party game versus the Wii era. "There will be exceptions. Wii Fit U is not going to be a $59.99 product with the Balance Board, as an example. But certainly we believe that these games are big enough, robust enough, with enough demand to satisfy a $59.99 MSRP."

I figured this. When you factor inflation, our 50 USD just isn't what it used to be. I only buy 1 or 2 full priced games each year, so thankfully this really shouldn't affect me.Opa Opa wrote:http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/09/14/ ... ed-at-5999

That's how much cartridge games were when they debuted, and that was 20 years ago. So it's really not that big of an inflation.

Inflation? I think it's more along the lines of "Hey, let us squeeze ten more dollars out of these people because they'll buy our games no matter what."

ITT Gamers who own more games that they can play complain about slight price increase compared to ten years ago.

lol. Who said it was evil?
Nintendo's approach has been, for the last couple generations at least, to provide a gaming experience at a competitive price. Now their first-party games are going up? What gives?

Just wait 6-9 months to get the games at 1/3rd the launch price....except if it's a Mario or Zelda title, then you are screwed

Exactly, lol. It seems you'll only see games like this decrease if a direct sequel of sorts comes out (like Galaxy 2, Skyward Sword, etc making the previous games cheaper).ZeroAX wrote:Just wait 6-9 months to get the games at 1/3rd the launch price....except if it's a Mario or Zelda title, then you are screwed
