I live in Brevard county Florida, where Fay has done the most damage. Apperently, Brevard now holds the record for daily rain fall in Florida or something like that, after 32 inches of rain in two days. My house luckily is about 10 feet above the water
table, so we didn't have any trouble with the storm. My whole neighborhood is like my house, so we're one of the only dry places out there.
A house I lived in a few years ago is in a neighborhood not too far from where I live, the construction style is more modern so the houses are closer together leaving little room for storm drainage. The street I used to live on is flooded knee-deep and closed off to the public (most-likely means my old house is flooded four inches) and the intersection where the bus to the middle school I used to go to is flooded deep enough that only one of the two streets is visible, the opther is in a dip and flooded all the way through a neighborhood.
There were supposedly county air boats skimming around trying to rescue people from flooding homes. I heard Melborne got pounded a lot worse than my town. School in Brevard was canceled for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I'll post pictures of some of the flooding later.
Anyone else dealing with Fay?

Orlando residence here, I had off work on Tuesday, when supposedly the storm was going to come right over us. Nothing but light rain. In fact, the past two days have been way worse as far as wind and rain, but no where near the damage I have seen done. My friend who lives in Kissimmee(sp?) (about 30 min from my house) had a Tornado touch down in his neighborhood, one of his neighbors had their roof ripped off or something. That is about the extent for myself.
Glad to hear you both are doing good.

Exciting weather? In the UK? Not likely.

Here are the pictures I was talking about:

This is the intersection where my bus stop was a few years ago. You can't even see the road that leads off into the neighborhood.

This is one of the houses off Grant Rd, where the flooded intersection is.

One of the houses in my old neighborhood. A friend of mine lives there. You can't see it in the picture, but their neibors had two palm trees that were snapped in half from the wind.

This is the street I used to live on. The road is closed because of all the water, and my house is on the outside of the corner. The water is knee deep there, and my old house is no-doubt flooded.
