And consider me confused. MR. MOM, GUNG-HO, or BEETLEJUICE? What is Keaton's best comedy? And I swear if anyone says MULTIPLICITY I will...I'll...Well, I won't think highly of your opinion.

Beetlejuice is awesome. I wouldn't say that Multiplicity is a best work, or even top 10 or whatever, but it is very quotable. Well, 4's lines are the most quotable. And the scenes with Eugene Levy are pretty great too. My favorite part is when Doug fires Vic (Levy) and some other employee can't believe it's happened. He says:

"Man you fired Vic? But the guy's got like fifty seven kids!"

Just that the guy exaggerated to 57 cracks me up every time.

I admit to saying "She touched my Pepe Steve" more than I should.

Boo on anyone who thinks THE HANGOVER is even close to the top five best comedies of all time. It has a few moments, very few. There are episodes of "You bet your life" that are a thousand times funnier.
I would say that the Hangover is by far the funniest movie of the last 10 years easy. It had me laughing from start to finish and I believe it was the breath of fresh air the comedy genre needed after countless ben stiller + adam sandler movie garbage. In another 10 years maybe I will look at it different but for now top 5.

Nacho Libre? Why would anyone choose that over Napoleon Dynamite?

Which reminds me that I totally forgot about that movie when I made my list. It's such an awesome classic, edit time.

My five personal favorite comedies, in no particular order, are:

* A Shot in the Dark
* This Is Spinal Tap
* Hot Rod
* The Big Lebowski
* The Naked Gun

I also have an affinity for the "martinis and tuxedos" comedies of the 1930s, such as Bringing Up Baby, My Man Godfrey, Topper, etc., but I would not rank any of them in my top five. I must also give an honorable mention to Zoolander for being a movie that is incredibly fun to talk about and quote, but not all that much fun to watch.

Finally, while I love Buster Keaton films (and would have included The General in my top five if I did not consider it more of an action film), this article perfectly expresses my feeling on the Marx Borthers:

I'm confident in saying that The Hangover is the most overrated comedy of all time. Not only did it NOT revitalize an already stagnant comedy market, but it's success helped move the genre into even lamer territory. Wit is (largely) dead.

I agree. I don't think that we will ever see another His Girl Friday.

(Not that it is one of my favorite comedies, but it is a shame that the studios do not makle movies like that any more.)

^ Yup.

Funnier movies off the top of my head, not going back an entire decade:

THIS IS 40
T0Y STORY 3
KNOCKED UP
CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS
CONAN O'BRIEN CAN'T STOP
BRIDESMAIDS
THE MUPPETS
KUNG-FU PANDA 1 & 2
BEING ELMO
................

I could easily name dozens, but THE HANGOVER is on the same level as HOT TUB TIME MACHINE.
