Went to manhattan and picked up my auction win. The controllers barely work and the RF adapter looks like garbage on my screen so I'll need some replacements. Some items with go into my BST list if anyone is interested. Also hit up Goodwill on 23rd and 3rd ave. and found a CIB Forsaken 64. First boxed N64 game I have ever seen in the wild lol.

Oh no doubt, Breetai. The first time I read Michi's haul, I nearly became radiant with green envy. Find of the century.

I hit up a bunch of thrift stores today. I got a couple of good scores, but the one I'm still laughing about is...

GBA SP (AGS-001) with charger and authentic Pokemon Leaf Green in the cart slot - $2.99 !

This was in the same thrift store that had a bare oXbox for $90

edit: In another thrift store, I found a huge Trinitron, and it was only $18.99, but marked AS-IS. The guy said that means "it probably doesn't work." I have a Trinitron already, but it would have been nice to have a larger screen. Maybe it's good though that I didn't get it. It was huge (37" ?) and I don't think I would have been able to fit it in my car.

OK. I finally found out what I should resize my pictures to and I'm ready to share my awesome pickup from this weekend.

So growing up I obviously LOVED playing all my friends' N64's but I never had one of my own... until now! A friend posted a facebook status about selling it and in the end he agreed to sell it to me! I'm so excited!

Image

The controllers are both 3rd party and apparently don't work very well, but it's quite possible I can fix that and the console already has the expansion pack in it!

But of course, the main reason to get a console is for the games. My very first N64 games! I obviously bought all this because of the Madden games.

I'm so excited to educate myself on all the N64 games I missed out on! Give me some time and I'll be better prepared to debate whether the N64 or Gamecube has better party games. Especially since at the start of the summer I just went crazy buying CIB Gamecube games from Gamestop.

Some of the pricing makes me wanna ask to speak to the person that comes up with the prices just so I can smack them. This same thrift store had a framed Starry Night for $58.99. But it was a cheap paper print in a cheap frame... and the paper was water damaged!

It's also the type of thrift store where there's no real organization. Video games can be classified as so many different things depending on who checked in the item. If you wanna find all the video game related stuff, you have to check by the movies (especially DVDs), the music CDs, the toys, the electronics, and then all the things they lock in glass cases up by the registers. I usually find more PS1 and old PC games in with music CDs than I do where the rest of the video games are located.

Scored an NES with 2 controllers, RF and AC adapters in really good condition for $15 at goodwill. Nice to pick up since I recently sold all of my NES stuff while I was scraping together money right before my wedding.
