Love those futuristic, hubcap-less wheels.

La Haine

The ending really caught me off guard and thinking back on it, really seemed to be the only way to end it.

Blow Out

Fantastic.

Why I've never seen this film before is beyond me. It was awesome.

So I hit wikipedia to find more info on a certain part of the movie and it didn't help. My question is:
Did Jerry's wife get killed after all? They kinda hint at it with that scene where Buscemi comes in and shes on the floor. Stormare says "She started shrieking..." Then later when Stormare's character is arrested, the cop lists the people he's killed and lists her in there. Maybe I'm totally dense, but are they saying that the wife was killed after all?

All signs point to yes regarding your question.

One of my favorite things is how the movie starts with "based on actual events" to suck you in. It works although the story is 100% fiction, but still seems so plausible. The Coen's really knew what they were doing with that opening.

And I think everyone can agree that Macy was perfect for his role.

Route 666 6/10

Fun little movie that has some pacing issues, but Lou Diamond Philips and Lori Petty are great in this movie. Also Mr. 21 Jump Street himself Steve Williams. Hes always awesome.

The rest of the cast, well....not so much.

That was my exact reaction to seeing the movie for the first time last year. Why didn't I try it out earlier? Oh well, we can't see everything (unless we're paid movie critics).

Killer Joe

It has a little something for everyone. Disfunctional family of screwups that screw themselves over, creepy corrupt lawman, an abandoned business with a few arcade cabs and a pinball machine, breasts and bush for the guys, man ass for the visually orientated ladies and the other guys, K Fried C abuse, hilarious dick jokes, classic vehicles in their natural state, family dinners, abandoned theme parks, and wonderfully disturbing performances.

Oh wait, I guess there are no romantic comedy elements, orangutans, yo mama jokes, fruit bats, buddy cop companions, or triumphant high scores.

Good movie, but be prepared for a roller coaster. Not a movie that you really want to watch multiple times though, at least to me. And I say this liking other disturbing movies like Audition, Ichi the Killer, and Oldboy.

Yep this was a strange one. But good. I agree with Hobie's assesments here as I think everyone did in the group. Some laughs and discomfort at times. Some scenes can make you cringe, but in a good way I suppose? haha
