I read about that one. Apparently they show the "criminal focus group" the armor from the original movie, to which they crack a joke about how it looks like a "dumb toy from the 80s" or something.Luke wrote: Also, there is a scene where the armor is tested by a "criminal focus group". So, um, yeah.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I can't see that being the case. In the original the cops were all frail and getting massacred. Sure they had some vests, but the contrast there was that they were fleshy meatbags and Robocop was shiny and armored. I don't like this the same way I don't like the movie redesigns for the Transformers. It is way too busy. Fiddly bits everywhere. You don't want edges and seams in armor, they create weak points. Bad bad bad. This does not bode well.Luke wrote:I'm hoping, nay praying that this is Murphy pre-robocop and all officers don batman suits. If this is the final Robocop suit, I don't know if even Keaton can save this.

Oh, I doubt it is the case either but a guy can dream.Hobie-wan wrote:

But...When were the ocp officers getting massacred? Robocop was the guy usually doing the killing, well that and other gangsters killing each other. I have to thank you for your post, as I can't remember a single scene where cops get massacred which means I have to watch the movie again.
And the officers had helmets and knee pads too. Yet another reason to watch the movie again so I can double check.
Suffice to say I am excellent in giving myself reasons to watch my favorite movies over and over.
What was the hair color of the chick who shows her boobs in ROBOCOP? I must research!

there was the TV show as well.
Maybe our memories of the movies and series are mixing together.
Also whenever I see an old ford taurus I think of ROBOCOP. And how these were the future police cars!

That's a twenty second scene (or was it 24 seconds? Must watch again) with boobs, so I lose focus. Yes I maybe immature, but when boobs are on screen for a quick few seconds, that's what grabs my attention.Hobie-wan wrote:Well not shown, but the whole locker room dialog when Murphy shows up at the beginning.Luke wrote:But...When were the ocp officers getting massacred?
Back on track...Does a single ocp officer (non-management) die in the movie? I look forward to finding out.

No, ROBOCOP is still as good as the day it was released. Still full of funny, satire, action, stop animation, and over the top characters with a solid story.flojocabron wrote: Maybe our memories of the movies and series are mixing together.

I still love that the Taurus was the police car. At the time it was basically "generic car". The movie didn't try to make super high tech cgi flying cars, it was as if the writers basically said "It's just a car, fuck it. Get a generic car and paint it black, no one will give a shit".
Truth be told, if I can find a black Taurus SHO (they're actually pretty badass) I'm so willing to place a bid on it. I would definitely put an OCP logo on it.

Too late on these, but still worth peeking at. The second has the added bonus of being MT.Luke wrote: Truth be told, if I can find a black Taurus SHO (they're actually pretty badass) I'm so willing to place a bid on it. I would definitely put an OCP logo on it.
