So what have you guys been watching lately?

South Park marathon until 3:30pm.

Football later, Celebrity Rehab now.
For those lucky enough to not be in the know, Celebrity Rehab is a show about a rehab clinic where some of the patients die of overdoses years later. It's also a show about people who rarely want to be in rehab, and even are allowed to stay in the clinic after smuggling drugs into the clinic. Somehow the clinic is so poorly managed/or scripted that a few times the patients scale up to the roof to use.
I haven't googled it yet, but I hope Dr.Drew has had his license revoked. Why allow addicts who don't want help around addicts that do? Why allow an addict to stay in a rehab center after bringing in drugs around other addicts who want to quit?
Why do so many people who sign up for this television show leave because a camera is on them? Simple, they don't want help, they want the money for being on the show. If you ask me Drew is enabling a lot of addicts by letting them sign a tv contract that they can walk out on at anytime.
People don't change unless they want to and are willing to put the effort into making that change. People at a rehab clinic who are smoking crack on the roof are a lost cause and should be treated as such and not affect people who are working their ass off day by day to do become calm and sober.

The Wind in the Willows. I've watched the entire TV series several times. I'll never retire it, nor the book for that matter.

^Wind in the Willows = Classic!
I'm indulging in quiz shows at the moment. The Chase is watched most evenings in my house, it's all about the banter between the Chasers and the host Bradley Walsh. Also been watching some Supermarket Sweep, forgot what a great premise this show was. Would be funny watching it now, with supermarkets having TVs, clothes and pretty much anything now. The trolleys would be huge!

So Regis Philbin is being replaced by....Michael Strahan?
I don't see this lasting long at all, but who knows. But still. Michael Strahan?

I watched the first episode and people do actually use guns on the show. Though they didn't seem like the most modern guns to me. I'm not a gun expert though. I enjoyed the show overall, though there were a few things I could nitpick about. Surprising amount of action in this first episode, which was pretty cool. The one action packed scene in this episode reminded me of the Crazy 88 fight in Kill Billdsheinem wrote:I dunno. My wife saw the trailer for this last night and immediately seized on a pretty stupid part of the premise. She wondered why the crash of the energy grid would mean battle now reverts to crossbows and swords. I'm pretty sure guns would still work...Gamerforlife wrote:I didn't know about this show before reading this post. I've since looked it up on wikipedia and there are some very interesting names working on this show. I'm totally gonna watch it.Pulsar_t wrote:
I thought about watching the pilot, but couldn't be bothered. Post-apocalyptic is so passé
Eric Kripke - Supernatural
J. J. Abrahams - Lost, Fringe, and some pretty awesome movies
John Favreau - Ironman
That's a geeky dream team right there
Oh, and you Breaking Bad fans will be happy to see this face again on this show:

it was ok for me. i really had to suspend belief on a few things. it's been done before, but i was entertained enough to keep watching. the son needs to die a horrible death though.

Re: So what have you guys been watching lately?
If Supernatural is anything to go by (since it was created by the same guy), this show could be a slow burn. Supernatural starting getting good at the end of its first season. Season 2 was pretty solid overall, and the show got incrementally better each season after until it arguably peaked in season 5. So I'm interested in seeing how Revolution grows and evolves over time, especially with J.J. Abrams as exec producer and Favreau as a director. Those are big names that weren't even involved in Supernatural at allstickem wrote:it was ok for me. i really had to suspend belief on a few things. it's been done before, but i was entertained enough to keep watching. the son needs to die a horrible death though.Gamerforlife wrote:

I've been watching a lot of Nichijou. A pretty out of the ordinary, slice of life anime. Lots of explosions and wonderfully strange things.
