Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
As said, the Gen 1 brick will work, as will a TG-16 one. I was using a Gen one with the loose SMS I got until I got a boxed system. AV cable is the same as GEN 1 as stated. A NES/SNES/GEN/TG16 auto RF box will work too if you have one of those and get a power brick to check it with before an A/V cable.storino03 wrote:Any recommendations for a compatible AC adapter and AV cable? One thing not mentioned in the site... that, in general, Japanese AC adapters for the 6/16-bit Sega consoles will work with the equivalent US systems. The exception is the Game Gear. The JP Game Gear uses the AC adapter of the model 1 Mega Drive, instead of the model 2 like in the US.aaron wrote:i'm 100% certain that both will work just fine with the model of SMS you got.AppleQueso wrote:I'm like 90 percent certain that you can use a model 1 Genesis AC adapter with it, and 100 percent certain you can use a model 1 Genesis AV cable with it.storino03 wrote: Any recommendations for a compatible AC adapter and AV cable? Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Probably for the same reason the US SNES has a funky connector, to keep kids from plugging their NES brick that outputs AC instead of DC and blowing them up. Supposedly a fair number of Gen model 1s died at the hands of NES power bricks too and that's likely why the latter Gen models use the smaller plug.aaron wrote:interesting. didn't know that. i wonder why?

Thanks. I'll buy an aftermarket AC adapter and AV cable on Ebay and truly test it out.

Found the same thing for the same price at one of my local goodwills...that is...until I opened it to find heartbreak...a copy of nba 2k was inside...oh well still bought it for the case alone...in case I get a disc only copy at some point. They even let me switch out nba 2k for another disc they randomly had...(parasite eve 2 disc 2). Now to find disc 1 lolM3GAlodon wrote: oh and found this too....![]()

Won this lot for $35 picked up on ebay. I'll go pick it up as soon as the seller gets back to me. I can't figure out though what the two games in the upper right corner are on top of the boxed ones.
