CT2 and 3 were pretty boring, since New York and Las Vegas are just flat, grid-like areas. San Fransisco is one of the few big cities in the US that is geographically interesting. If they base it off of a fictional city, the designers could put in whatever the heck they wanted!
Yeah, or they could base them off of European cities which generally are a lot more interesting in thei layout. It might not make a huge amount of sense having an american style taxi shooting about, but who cares, it's a silly game anyhow.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. I bet London and Paris could be fairly interesting.

Or they could use a bunch of cities from around the world, add in some crazy throwaway plot about a globetrotting taxi, saving the world from tardiness, and you've got yourself a new game.

Personally, I'd much rather have another Simpsons: Road Rage.

Both Road Rage and Hit N' Run were some of the best and most fun blatant clones ever made.

So I'm playing (the original) Silent Hill and I think it's funny how Harry says "A Wheelchair? In an elementary school?" But never anything like "Shotgun shells? In an elementary school?". :P

Well, given the fact that there's carnage and demons everywhere, shotgun shells don't seem too out of place.

Enjoy it though, awesome game. Can never decide if it like that or RE 2 more.

Yeah yeah I know, but it was a "random gaming thought" that popped into my head so I thought I'd share.

I'm sure I will enjoy it, I like it so far. The tank controls don't feel quite as smooth as in the RE games but I'm not complaining, I've finally gotten used to it and the trippy camera angles.

Eh? Both were ok games, but Road Rage was certainly no Crazy Taxi.

I agree that the maps from the sequels weren't very good. The lack of verticality hurts, but other cool elements are also missing: Open spaces, hard curves, long sections that give you big money but are sparse in costumers...They weren't as well designed.

In some regards, I think they should have made the map bigger instead of making new maps. But that makes the game less acessible.

Right now, the biggest problem I have with CT now, is the draw distance. When you jump down the tram slopes cars pop out of thin air and it reflects very poorly. The graphics as a whole could be greatly improved, and not beacuse they look ugly or not, but because they could exaggerate the art style a little more, making it more vibrant and punk-ish. Not having real circles for the pickup signs makes the game pretty dated.

Then comes the gameplay adjustments, which many expert players would love. I couldn't even pull half of the special moves so I can't really comment here

I'm just a bit wishful, wanting every classic game to get the treatment OutRun and Tetris had with OutRun 2SP and the Grandmaster series. It would make so many great games into absolute masterpieces.

I think I had a half-finished article about this, perhaps I should pick it up again.
