Juggernaut is an acid trip gone horribly wrong while watching The Exorcist that was more or less put in 3 discs as a game.

Child Of Eden in 2D or 3D (The best looking 3D mode I've seen in a game) is trippy but insanely emotional.

Anything that's related to Suda 51 is trippy.

Cool topic! Don't know if it's still active, so sorry if I'm bumping this. :)

Bastion kind of sounds like what you're talking about with the strange levels - the stages basically form under you as you go. I thought it was one of those "art house" indie games so I hesitated in getting it for a while, but after a Steam sale dropped its price to $3 I couldn't resist... and it's probably the best PC indie game I've played.

The newest Indie Bundle has a game called Shatter that's basically Rez meets Arkanoid meets Lumines for PSP. It has super chill electronic music, too.

For retro stuff, Plok on SNES is pretty trippy by your definition, it's like Rayman's 2D outings, but pretty weird. I actually hate that game though, incredibly unfair difficulty.

I don't mind it being bumped :) I've played bastion myself, pretty neat visuals and the narration thing is funny but I wouldn't call it trippy myself.

I wish they'd port Proteus over to Android. Perfect for tablets!

Try Panic! on the Sega CD. There is not really even a game there, just interactive electronic weirdness.
