I'm with CFFJR on KFC. They changed their recipes and really knocked down their portions big time, I'm not a fan anymore. Once I started going to Popeyes I never looked back heh.
There was some Backyard Burgers around here but they become Church's. Haven't checked them out yet...but I loved Backyard Burger.

My local Popeye's has a Coke Freestyle, so it is going to win every time I crave fried chicken, which is about once a year.
I wish I still lived near a Backyard Burger. We do have Char-Grill which is close, but Backyard is much better and bigger. You make a "C" shape with one hand, and that's how think a regular burger is. Their waffle fries aren't anything special, but they are delicious.

I love McDonalds, but do not eat it often. The one I the most is Waffle House. Nothing can top a good Waffle House, nothing! And thankfully I work near the corporate office so everyone near me is good.
In and Out is like Fiveguys meets Checkers, and West Coast only. When I was in Hollywood earlier this year I made it a point to go to one, and it was worth it. But it was super packed.

There ya go.fastbilly1 wrote:Nothing can top a good Waffle House, nothing!
Growing up there was a Mister Omelet that turned into a Coffee House, which turned into a Waffle House. No mater what it was called, the place was full of meth heads, servers included.
Food wasn't bad, but the Waffle House remains the only restaurant that throws out customers like Uncle Phil would. Like a bar that serves pancakes rather than beer that place is.

I'm sorry sir, but this throws all of your food opinions into question. Chipotle are the blandest burritos I've ever eaten, and I keep cheap frozen bean and cheese burritos on hand for moments of extreme laziness. I think everything is made from processed cardboard. At my old job, people wanted to eat there all the time which I couldn't understand, so I ended up giving it several choices. The lime rice? Tastes like nothing. The 'spicy' meats? Taste like nothing. Even salting the crap out of their burritos couldn't coax any flavor out of them. I suppose I shouldn't expect better from a company owned by McDonald's. Take out the fat and what's left for flavor?Luke wrote: Decent fast food does exist.
Chipotle
Freebirds and Bullritos. Those are good burrito places.

Chipotle
Haven't visited them since nearly 2005, so I guess I have to back pedal. I remember them being much better than Moe's as regarding quality of food, service, and cleanliness.
But when I did visit a Chipotle in California, the pulled pork surpassed my expectations.

Re: favorite fast food
It was around 2004-2005 when I went over the space of 6-9 months. The place was clean inside and it was full of high maintenance soccer moms and power lunching males. Service was fine too. Just the food was insanely bland to the point I couldn't bring myself to finish the food.Luke wrote:Hobie-wan wrote:I'm sorry sir, but this throws all of your food opinions into question.Luke wrote: Decent fast food does exist.

I see a lot of love for In-N-Out, and I hear it a lot around town. And I just don't get it. It has a VERY limited menu selection. The burger patties are thin and flimsy and feel like a rip-off to me (where's the beef?). And for being all-natural, home-grown fries as they advertise, they taste like oil-absorbed crap to me; give me McDonald's or Burger King fries over those any day, they're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, rather than flimsy and soft feeling all-around like In-N-Out.

I got hooked up Backyard when I lived in Boone. Now, amazingly, I live 2 miles from the only Backyard in Raleigh lol.Luke wrote:
