We only have Buffalo Wild Wings, Schlotzky's, and Chick-Fil-A here. We might have a Jason's Deli too.

Does anyone consider pizza to be fast food? Dominoes and Pizza Hut are pretty junky~

They make the best corned beef reuben, they really do.

But it could be regional. I've had a bad sandwich from a Schlotky's when I was out of town. My local Scholtky's makes the highest revenue in NC out of all the chains, so perhaps their food is fresher. Their bread is always oven warm and fresh; never stale.

And they aren't shy with the meat and toppings. They always look like "commercial" sandwiches.

Now I'm starving.

I have one within walking distance. I should go ahead and make a trip over there when I get paid again.

If you can call a restaurant and pick up your food in a few minutes, I'd consider that fast food. Don't think a drive-thru is needed to classify a restaurant.

I've been whipping up pizzas at home latey.

I can make my own pizza in the time it would take to have one delivered, so meh.

This is funny, at least to me:

My friend is the manager at my local Schlotz's, and while in grad school I'd stop by there often. It depends on the store, but a lot of Schlotz's offer 10% discounts for students, cops, teachers, etc. While going thru the drive thru one time I asked if I could get the student discount. The cute cashier asked "Do you have a student ID?".

I replied, "Hmm. No, but I do have these books (shows her accounting and finance text books)!". She smiled and gave me the discount.

If Pizza counts, then that's my favorite. I really like the taste of Pizza Hut's "mozzarella" (I'm honestly not sure what it is), but admittedly their pan pizzas are basically fried. So despite really liking the taste, I think I haven't actually eaten one in years.
I eat healthier pizzas frequently (although healthier than PH's pan pizza isn't a very safe endorsement). I could eat plain Pizza every day and not get bored, the main reason I don't is because it just isn't healthy.

I saw a picture of Greek souvlaki a bit earlier in the thread. Those things can be quite tasty, and for fast food they are relatively healthy and wholesome. I'm a fan.

I never really liked fries that much, and the same goes for the general burgers (MacD's, BK or whatever). The chicken nuggets or chicken burgers either in MacD's or KFC are tasty, but once again are very processed. The last time I was "forced" and went to a MacD (I was outvoted 3 to 1 in the group) was almost 2 years ago and I just got some nuggets and a cookie.

Decent fast food does exist.

Backyard Burgers

Jersey Mike's

Chick-Fil-A

In-n-Out

Chipotle

Buffalo Wild Wings

Jason's Deli

Panera Bread

Bear Rock cafe

Schlotzsky's deli

Five Guys
...
The problem is most of those places aren't near by where I live or in the case of a few even in the same part of the country. I've only seen one Five Guys in my entire life (and actually do want to try it out). Most of those other places I've never seen or even heard of.

For the most part I don't eat fast food much unless I'm in a hurry, lazy or want something cheap. There are lots of really great local non-chain restaurants that I'd much rather get take out from first.

(Shout out to anybody in the Coal Region, Tony's Lunch in Girardville and Shamokin's Coney Island for the best burgers around.)

Damn it, I read Luke's list and suddenly I have a huge craving for Jersey Mikes.

On the sandwich note, I also really enjoy Which Wich, and Firehouse Subs.

There's a local (I think) fast Japanese chain around here called Kokoro that I've been in love with for years.

In n Out makes the best fast food burger anywhere, you ask me. There aren't any in Denver (which is a god damn crime) but every time I get down to Vegas or L.A., I make it a point to stop into In n Out first thing.

I'm also a fan of Wahoo's Fish Taco.

There are others of course, and they've already been discussed.
