No its not.

There is also a possibility in the games price slightly dropping after MVC origins is released.
Yes, it is.

Played them side by side.

The Alpha ports, i'd agree to an extent, but your way off base on MSH.

MVC origins would only increase the value, as is the case nearly every time a sequel or compilation disc comes out, sparking interest in the original.

MVC2 on just about every platform dropped in value after MVC2 was released on XBL and PSN.

and No, MSH on the Saturn has way more issues than it should have on the platform (slowdown, Longer loadtimes than the PSX version). It was anything but an excellent port!

Well, to each his own. Maybe you have a squicky Saturn. The only time it slows down is during freez-frame combos, just like the PCB. I made a video of a match starting w/the same characters at the same time - minus the scanlines, identical. Sounds like hardware issues on your end.

Load times are minimal, certainly not distracting.

You cite MvC2, that is one game that sold millions of copies across multiple platforms and has ebbed and flowed for 5 years.

The vast majority of games released on PSN, PSN-JP, XBLA and other compilation discs has only made the original versions more valuable.

It's the same bullshit everytime. "Slowdown" "load times" "sound is off". I play both and if there are noticeable differences - they are noticeable. Not the case w/MSH...at all. Played them both literally a week ago and if the SAT port was anything but excellent, would've sold it and kept the board.

Millions!? Really? the PS2 and Xbox releases were well known to have a very limited print run due to the Capcom's loss of licensing and as a result garnered their high price and demand. These versions were more expensive than the superior DC port as a result (DC version had a more units in circulation than the other XB and PS2 version released years later). When MVC2 came out for the current platforms, their value dropped for a good while. Don't know much about their value now though.

Nope. If such was the case, I would get a different result each of the Saturns i use to play the game on. Results are always the same across all 4.
Sound across the board is inferior on saturn especially compared to the audio on PSX version
The loading times are are a tad longer on the saturn compared to PSX. And this gets even worse when using the optional 3mb mode.
The games slows down considerably when battling large characters (BH, Jugg) and when fighting Thanos.

Well it seems there may be discrepancies with the term excellent. Considering you have or had the original PCB surprises me that you don't see the difference. None of the home versions are excellent ports when compared to the arcade original, NONE. But the Saturn versions shortcoming are just as bad or even worse than the PSX port depending if one uses the optional ram cart mode.

Sound is going to be inferior on any CPS2 board due to the brilliance of Q-Sound. This has nothing to do with the port per se.

Hulk and Juggernaut slow down on the board as well, so that's what we call, arcade accurate.

Multiple platforms, so obviously we'd include the DC version, which was the highest selling, not sure why you'd point out the others and disregard the best seller

There has been ZERO affect on the DC price. It was selling steady $20-30 4 years ago, 2 years ago, and yup, same today.

Whereas the Metal Slugs, Mega Mans, and dozens, maybe hundreds of shooties / fighties that have been re-released and available by download has only increased the price of the original.

Saturn US, SNES, NES, and N64 have never been higher, in particular the games that have been made available online and compilation.

I owned the CPS2 library minus the mahjong title, choko, loop master and original Hyper Street Fighter / Pro Gear boards. The stuff I believe to be superior I keep, a couple in the Darkstalkers series for example. The reality is, some stuff does play very well despite what arcade snobs would say. As someone who annoys the hell out of everyone hyping arcade ad nauseum - I take great care to say something is superior, because the reality is, people make decisions based on these discussions, and I think it is irresponsible for anyone to say MSH is bad port. It isn't.

If you said the SAT port of Alpha 1 / 2 had noticeable issues, i'd agree. If you said Eco Fighters on PS2 was clunky and not a good port, i'd agree.

Like MSH, Pocket Fighter is another one that was ported extremely well, that game also plays with minimal issues.

Sometimes the port is horrendous and can still sell well - example, Gekirindan on SAT is miserable compared to the F3 board. That game has slowdown.
