I forgot they were making Amazon do this. Does it apply to Marketplace purchases?

I don't think it's actually required, but Amazon charges me sales tax when I order from them.

Amazon is pretty much the only online place i order from that charges me sales tax. Hm.

It's based upon where online businesses have a presence. In Amazon's case they have distribution centers in several states, and in those states they charge sales tax. Most online companies only have distribution from a single state, so if you don't live in that state then you won't get assessed tax.
