I love the scene where he's trying to retrieve the bug from the DEA's office. The planting & retrieval of the bug is always tense for me.
I don't really see what he gained from killing him though. I mean yeah, he might have saved his own skin, but that doesn't really hurt Walt in any way. I think it was just an ego driven, impulsive kill, which shows how fucking dangerous Walt is now. Watch out Skylar. That's all I'm saying. I'm glad Jesse is no longer blind about what Walter has turned into now. He's been kind of playing dumb for a while, but he really laid in on the line about Walt not giving a crap about the dead kid and how everything Walt says is alway BS. Great scene for Jesse

Seriously -- I have no idea how he got out of the car so quick...

BTW, was anyone else taken back at least a bit by how worried Mike looked when the cops showed up at the park. I don't think we've ever seen nearly that much fear in his face.

I think it goes back to what you were talking about before with him being tired of being disregarded or feeling inferior. He was liking his growing power and reputation and Mike totally disregarded his threat when he grabbed the bag from him and got in his car. You could tell Walt was hurt and felt small again for a few moments there.

Yeah, the guy has a massive inferiority complex. It's a shame he never found a healthy outlet for dealing with it. That moment before he kills Mike is in stark contrast to the cocky Walt at the beginning of the episode saying, "You're damn right I'm Heisenberg."

Those are the moments he lives for now. He needs people to acknowledge his greatness, and Mike insulted and tore down what Walt sees as his greatest achievement - killing Gus. That didn't sit well with him obviously

It definitely wasn't the cops he was worried about. It was leaving his grandaughter and knowing he'd probably never see her again.

True. I guess I was just thinking that she would be ok as she would find a way home, etc. I guess I didn't think about the not-seeing-her-again. Makes more sense that way.... interesting to see what actually strikes emotion in his face. Same goes for how she caused most of the smiles on his face.

So Mike finally got careless and let both his lawyer and Walt get at him? And the scene in the bank wasn't convincing either, but hey it's television!

I don't think it was a matter of being careless. Things just started piling on, and even mike isn't invincible. I mean, even gus lost eventually.

What exactly did you not like about the scene? Seems convincing enough to me.
