My favorite game of the year so far is Xenoblade! Havn't really purchased that many new releases this year, however I did preorder Persona 4 Golden and will pick up Sleeping Dogs at some point.

so if I like illussions of gaia/twighlight princess/link too the past

going from different towns, or buildings, talking too people, and being able too hind from your enemies, would xenoblade or last story be a better game.

Mainstream Games
1. Rayman Origins (PC ver)

Indie Games
1. Thomas Was Alone
2. Dear Esther (updated ver)
3. Escape Goat
4. Oniken
5. Quantum Conundrum

Honorable Mention:
Offspring Fling

I haven't played a lot of 2012 games yet, so it's hard to judge.

Every time I think of a 2012 game I liked, it turns out it actually came out in 2011.

Hm.

I hadn't realized how barren of a year 2012 has been. I think BlazBlue: CSE (360) and Dust: An Elysian Tail are the only two games I've bought. I guess the holiday season is coming up and that's when most major releases tend to come out so we haven't really seen the best of 2012 yet.

I know I keep hyping it up like I'm a member of Microsoft's marketing staff or something but Dust is an amazing game. More people need to get this game.
