I finished Arrested Development and it was a struggle to watch all 3 seasons. Yes, there were parts that were hilarious and it was clever the way the show would reuse certain jokes or replay scenes/pictures/etc but overall, I didn't think it was that good. Maybe I'm humor impaired? Wouldn't be surprised if I was. I consider Seinfeld to be the gold standard for comedy shows.

I just started watching Deadwood (currently on S01E04) and love it. This show is awesome. The characters, dialogue, the sets are all great. Can't wait to watch the other 31 episodes.

Robot Chicken has been finding it's way into my DVD player, since Walmart had the first season on sale for $10. Very amusing so far, although the episodes feel rather short.

I watched one episode of the new Black Dynamite cartoon. It was funny, but the concept seems slightly less interesting as a cartoon than it was as a live action movie with real actors instead of cartoon characters. You sort of expect zaniness and wackiness from a cartoon. It's more fun and interesting when it's done with real actors.

I'm all caught up on this season of Burn Notice. That show is still an amazingly fun roller coaster ride full of badass moments and lots of action. I do find it funny though how every season comes down to Michael having to find some important guy. Then as soon as he finds or kills that person, the story comes up with yet another super important person that he needs to find or kill. It's like, when will this show ever have an end game with a final villain?

Props to the show for name dropping The Wire. There was a certain side character fearing for his life in a dangerous situation and started rattling off all the reasons that he can't die yet, and one of them was that he still hasn't watched The Wire

There was also a funny line in that same episode about Bruce Campbell and a "boom stick." I'm sure some of you get that reference

I've got about four more episodes and I'm done with season 3 of The Wire, and it's gotten really good. Can't wait to see how it all plays out!

Trailer for next season of dexter looks promising. It's also spoiler-riffic, insanely so if you aren't caught up.

Burn notice has BURNED me out teehee. It's just dull. The only thing that could get me watching would be if they killed fiona.

There are better shows on TV sure. Nikita is a far better spy show. I still like Burn Notice though. It's fun for what it is, a fast paced, action packed show, with style to spare, and I don't really think the creators ever intended it to be one of the best shows on TV. It's just meant to be fun and accessible, like good fast food. You could call it one of my B shows, while Breaking Bad, Nikita, Game of Thrones are my A+ shows.

I agree with you on Fiona. I've never really understood Fiona's appeal. I mean Sam is awesome because he's Bruce Campbell being Bruce Campbell, and Jesse is awesome too, and Michael Weston is fine as the lead character. Fiona is kind of a physically abusive brat though, and I always felt that she wasn't cast well. They are always emphasizing her sex appeal on the show and yet picked one of the skinniest, most unattractive actresses to play her. I know it's a very superificial thing to say, but I think I'd like her character better with a different actress. If you want to sell me on the idea that she's this super hot, femme fatale who could stop traffic like Selma Hyak - you need to actually get a hot actress to play her who doesn't look like Skeletor.

I have the same problem with River Song on Doctor Who. She's a character who is always flaunting her sex appeal and always making comments with sexual innuendo...but she's really not very hot at all. It's like no one's ever told her that

Fiona isn't ugly but she DEFINITELY isn't sexy like the show says.

There's maybe 2 that actually pulled out some decent appeal on Doctor Who. The rest were average. There was a redheaded one I saw in an episode a while back that was a companion, and she was hardly attractive...

You know, I kind of see it now. After finishing season 3 of The Wire, I'm starting to get why some people consider it the greatest TV drama of all time.

I mean, I look at all my favorite shows of all time prior to watching The Wire, and I still hold them in very high regard, but The Wire just has a unique quality to it that I've not seen in other shows and a very, very dense and layered story. It's a special show. Maybe I should check out Treme sometime.
