My roommate and I decided upon a SNES. We've got some fighting games and beat 'em ups and we're good to go OH MAN
I really, genuinely considered bringing my CD-i 910 along just for fun, but decided against it because that guy is way too heavy.

Hmm, I like the way you think!Gooseberrysoda wrote:I'm not trying to attract ladies at all, actually. Dudes 4lyfe!
As much as I love my Dreamcast, I have to agree that the N64 is the best multiplayer console of all time.DrJohnston wrote:I disagree. While the matter may be entirely opinionated, I can see very few games which are exclusive to the Dreamcast's four-player. Power Stone may hold up, but I am willing to bet more people are familiar with SSB. Also, the N64 generally has a party-oriented feel to it. It's far from my favorite console, but it's even farther from sucking.noiseredux wrote:N64 sucks. [...] Honestly, I'd go with a Dreamcast, four controllers and spindle of CDR's.

Between that, Mario Kart, Pokemon Stadium 2, and Goldeneye, yeah, it's the best.

I'd say Gamecube over N64 because Melee>SSB.harper wrote:I'm not big on the 'cube to begin with but I'm gonna sayyy... yes.pumpkinpie65 wrote:Even over the Gamecube??lisalover1 wrote: As much as I love my Dreamcast, I have to agree that the N64 is the best multiplayer console of all time.

Re: Best dorm room console?
If people are so worried about buying games on a student budget and games/console getting stolen, why not just get a PC with emulators and 4 USB controllers? You need a computer anyways (cant do your homework, watch youtube vids or pay your bills on a N64), it eliminates the need to own a TV and you can play all those SNES, Genesis, Dreamcast, PS1 and N64 multiplayer games for free on an emulator. Not to mention all the awesome multiplayer games you can play in LAN and online if you've got a PC. And if you dont have much space in your dorm room, you can play many of those 2-4 player N64, PS1, Dreamcast etc games online via hamachi on your PC if I'm not entirely mistaken.
There actually is a multitap for the CDi that allows whopping 2 controllers to be used simultaneously. There's also an internet cable thingy for the CDi , but I doubt any game uses that.
Haha, that's awesomeGooseberrysoda wrote: I really, genuinely considered bringing my CD-i 910 along just for fun, but decided against it because that guy is way too heavy.

I actually don't like Melee that much at all, but I can see how some people (if not everyone else in the world but me?) could think it's better. But if there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that:Forlorn Drifter wrote: I'd say Gamecube over N64 because Melee>SSB.
Mario Kart 64 > Mario Kart: Double Dash
