Update: The RVP decide it would be best if the trainer was sent back to California early, so he is no longer in the office (he was to be moved at the end of the month). He apparently pissed off the RVP who said "the decision of the owner of that company does not mandate what we do in my office."

Smile: My wife is happy that her brother and his fiancee are coming for a few day visit.

Ticked: Wish they were just coming over for dinner. I haste having to house these two for a few days as the brother thinks he's too cool for school and his fiancee is an obnoxious hulk of a woman who has a tendency to make racist remarks.

I've kicked people out of other people's houses for saying "nigger" over and over, and the fact of the matter is I don't want her staying in my home.

Housing a guy who thinks he is smarter than he is (he's the guy who only listens to indie music because he can't stand anything commercial) doesn't bother me, but if the "why don't you hang out with us" subject comes up I'm going to have to say "because I don't like them".

I mean, I bought my brother in law a lap dance at my own bachelor party and he didn't return the favor. Lame ass people.

Plus, this means no True Blood party, which has been a new and fun tradition for Sunday nights.

Thank God for xanax and work or I think I'd start pulling my hair out.

The silver lining to this fat cumulus cloud is that when I show them the guest room I get to say "If you're thinking about having sex in this room, just remember I've fucked your sister and masturbated on this bed more times than I can count. You get horny, remember your sister going reverse cowgirl on my schlong, butthole pulsating. Good night!".

Ticked off - My new computer turned itself off again today. I thought I had resolved all the outstanding issues that was causing the restart cycle. This time was different; it didn't restart, just stopped sending video and audio to the display. Went and hit the power button and the display came back on, which led directly to...

Smile - Realized my computer was going to sleep on me. Which explains why it didn't happen when playing games but did happen when listening to music while reading on the couch. I had originally thought it was an overheating or power supply issue. Did some investigating and found that at some point in the process of moving my HDDs into the new computer and getting all the drivers sorted out my power plan had switched back to Balanced, instead of High Performance (where I had disabled sleep and display turn off). I suspect it's when I did the Nvidia "clean install" option. Fixed that and changed the other two plans to also not kill the display, in case the same thing happens.

Double smile - Going from a slideshow during close combat in MechWarrior Online on low to running smooth as silk on high.
Blizzard Entertainment Software Developer - All comments and views are my own and not representative of the company.

Well that was detailed.

I'm sorry, I get that you're frustrated with what's sure to be an annoying situation, but this post was pretty funny.

I mean that in a nice way.

Why not just be assertive. Tell your wife you don't want them in your house. Tell the brother in law you don't care for him and you are willing to have dinner with them one night because it will make your wife happy, but beyond that, you have no desire to spend time with them.

When I get invited to weddings - I say, "I appreciate the offer and wish you well, but I won't be attending." <---because I don't like weddings, the reception dinner, the tux fitting, the wedding itself...all seems like lost time to me and I don't understand why people do things they don't want to do, but rather complain about it. In the case of my daughter, i'll attend, because I want to. In the case of one of my buddies, I don't want to attend, so I won't. Simple.

There are times when we have to "put up" with things because they are part of our jobs and the job itself is worth said temporary inconvenience. So what is the argument here? It is your personal life - you don't want to to happen, don't let it happen, no?

You can let them know now you don't want them in your home - it will be awkward at first, maybe a bit uncomfortable for your wife, but that is a one-time thing.

Because I'm telling half truths. I believe in supporting your family, and that comes with additional family when ya settle down, and when that family settles down, and so own...

Never would I say a negative word about my wife's family around her. Venting on a web forum, fine with me, but I wouldn't say anything about sex with his Sister or masturbating around his fiancee. I'm going to trust him to not screw around in my house, and at the very worst I'll tell him "Please behave yourself".

That said, if the fiancee does start with any racial slurs I will tell her that I don't allow that in my house. That should diffuse it quickly without being a dick.
