Any pick beats Sarah Palin.
I don't really think that he's the kind of Veep pick that will energize Romney's campaign very much, but he's probably not going to hurt it the way that Palin did McCain. Whatever they lose in senior support (Ryan's gone after Medicaid quite a bit), they'll probably gain in tea party/ultra conservative support.
I think the timing of the announcement is poor...it's a few weeks earlier than it probably should be.
And I wanna hurl every time the press calls him "intellectual"...
Nuclear Explosion? Pfft. Just fly the bomb out four miles near a lake, we'll all be fine.
My random thought/question:
Thank God for noiseredux and Hobie providing me with music suggestions, because it is difficult for me to find anything I like on the radio. There's a god awful gym class heroes song that is in heavy rotation that is like sand paper to the ears.
Commercial rap is just garbage. One of the biggest trends I've noticed is rappers laughing at their own lyrics where they say nothing clever, they just add a reference tag that is not clever nor funny.
"I've got to press-on, ha ha ha, Lee Nails".
"Tore the doors off, ha ha ha, Jeep!"
"She go down real slow, ha ha ha, escalator"
"You so soft boy, ha ha ha, charmin"
"I stand tall yo, ha ha ha, Dr. Scholl's"
Jay-Z, lill wayne, kanye, drake, rick ross and all other would be thugs are beating this trend to death.
I have a friend who paints for a living, and he's damn good at it. If he has too many projects on his hands, I always offer to help over the weekend. Long story short, while painting we listened to Reasonable Doubt and My Lifetime. Wow. So good. Almost genius.
There is a lot of bravado, self appreciating, and not every lyric is golden, but these two albums to me are like the "good Jay-z". Love the black album, love most of Jay-z's albums, but lyrically he was at the height of his game back in the 90's.

Not really. He'll pick up the votes he was already going to grab and get a few petulant tea party guys in line but...well, there is the whole rest of the country to consider.
If anything, I can see Paul Ryan being as volatile as Sarah Palin was. He seems to be way more savvy about politics than she was but he's also kind of a snake in the grass and super ambitious. He might end up forcing Romney to run right on too many stances, thus alienating even more people in the middle.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
I have more confidence in him than anyone who is currently running for President, and he's a fictional character.
Too bad Colin Powell is too smart to want to take office. My gut tells me he'd make the best President we've seen in decades. Great decision maker, great leader, and doesn't give two flips if "America" agrees with him or not.
^Oh. Paul Bunyan we be awesome. Couldn't lose with Babe as his running mate.

The pronunciation in which I heard Colin Powell's name the first time has stuck with me since; colon power.

Yeah... At least Burgundy would be straight forward, I suppose.
And yes, if Bunyan was president, he could cease war spending. Just go where ever needed and swing away with that monster axe and Babe would eat up the rest.
