Yes, was pretty amazing. I was cheering right along with them.

Pfft, the martians won't make such a stink when Quaid starts the reactor.

My understanding is that there is, but it'll take a lot of work to free it. The bigger issue is a buffer gas to thicken the atmosphere.

It's interesting to see how NASA seems to be getting better press these days. I can't help but wonder if Neil DeGrasse Tyson's seemingly increased popularity has helped. Hell, one guy I used to work with used to consider NASA a complete waste of money until he watched one of Tyson's videos. Now he's just as excited about the Curiosity rover as the rest of us.

I'm curious to see how long this thing will remain operational. I remember hearing the last one we sent up was only expected to remain functional for several months, and it ended up lasting years.

There is water, the frozen ice caps at the poles. I can't see an artificial atmosphere happening, there is no hot core to generate a magnetic shield.

I watched the Sci Fi Channel special last night. Gaaaah, it was laid out like Entertainment Tonight. Commentators kept saying looking for life, not proof of ancient life. Looking forward to the color videos tomorrow.

I'm sure that we are lego fans as well as gamers.....

heres a link to a fanmade lego Curiosity Rover

http://rebrickable.com/mocs/StephenPakb ... sity-rover

Doing some snooping and link diving I found that XBOX live has a free game based on Curiosity and its landing.....

http://turnstylenews.com/2012/08/01/mar ... -the-game/

there's a link there to XBOX's direct info.

Dont have an xbox live (or a 360), but if you do, you have a free game!
