It was the first thing to come out of the Republican primary race that actually made me interested in the political process. Then he went and pulled a Clinton.

Why are we sending ANOTHER rover to Mars? I never even heard anything about this before today.
Are you saying we should instead be gearing up for manned missions? I definitely want that, but sending robotic missions in the meantime will give us more information so the manned missions can be more targeted in what they do.

Why not? Learning about other planets can help us better understand geological changes in our own, the process itself is incredibly inspiring, and the images from even the older rovers are breathtaking:
Before Curiosity had come up in the news (when it was a month out) I'd been in the middle of reading the Red Mars trilogy. This just gets me even more excited about the prospect of getting people to Mars.

I came into this Thread curious what it was about, maybe needs a more descriptive title?
Sci Fi channel is supposed to be doing a special tonight, should be interesting. I hope that real proof of ancient life is found. A long shot hope, but actual evidence, maybe a fossil?
