Trying to recall a Batman movie
It was an animated film with a dark style of animation, and the movie began with the joker pumping some poor guy full of laughing gas, who Batman finds laughing hysterically and drooling. After that, I know nothing. Does anyone know which movie (or TV show) this was?
Sega Genesis (Model 2), Sega CD, Sega 32X, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Game Boy Family, Phillips CD-i Model 910, NES, Atari 5200, Virtual Boy, Atari Jaguar, Playstations 3-4

Mask of the Phantasm?
Edited in a question mark because now that I think about it I don't think Mask of the Phantasm started out that way. Shit, I don't remember. haha

Nope. I own it. It starts out with The Phantasm exacting revenge on her first victim of the movie.harper wrote:Mask of the Phantasm?

Re: Trying to recall a Batman movie
I might stir the pot here with this comment, but IMO the animated Batman movies capture the dark feel of the universe better than any of the live action ones (even the current trilogy, though The Dark Knight was pretty damn good).
I think my top 3 would be:
Under the Red Hood
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
Batman: Year one

Re: Trying to recall a Batman movie
Id say that's a definitive Animated Batman list. I agree. I *really* liked Red Hood. I wasn't a huge fan of DiMaggio's Joker (I mean he isn't Mark Hamill, y'know) but he still played it pretty well. Year One was pretty impressive too.jay_red wrote:I might stir the pot here with this comment, but IMO the animated Batman movies capture the dark feel of the universe better than any of the live action ones (even the current trilogy, though The Dark Knight was pretty damn good).

Re: Trying to recall a Batman movie
It's why I like the Arkham games even more than the Nolan movies. Those games are just straight up 90's TAS Batman at its finest.
Haven't seen the Batman Beyond movies or Year One, but yeah Mask of the Phantasm is amazing as is Under the Red Hood.

I think what you're referring to OP is an episode of Batman the animated series called "Harlequinade."
It's a great episode too.
