Smile: I got my housing preparations ready for next year at college, and it's looking pretty sweet! I'll be moving out of the dorms and into a nearby hotel. The room is twice the size, is a single room, and has access to the hotel pool, sauna, exercise room, and complimentary breakfast. The best part? Even including food costs, it is still just about half the cost of staying in the dorms! Yeah, I'm pretty excited.
Frown: My stepdad is still pretty weak from his chemotherapy yesterday. Luckily, his cancer is very treatable, but it's still pretty hard on him.

So how can staying at a hotel be cheaper than in the dorms? Is the college paying part of the tab because they don't have enough housing? You have a relative who owns the hotel?

All students are required to stay in the dorms for their first year, and most don't leave for a while just due to convenience. Thus, the college feels like it can charge whatever it wants.gtmtnbiker wrote:lisalover1 wrote: Even including food costs, it is still just about half the cost of staying in the dorms! What weird-o college are you going to?lisalover1 wrote: All students are required to stay in the dorms for their first year...
Smile: It's Wednesday, new comic day.
Frown: My niece is turning 1 in October, and my Sister rented a freaking club house for the event. Really? Renting a club house for a one year old? It's nice to visit family, but a ten and a half hour round trip drive to see a baby who won't remember squat? Seems so pointless.
That said, I get at least one video and picture of the baby in my inbox every damn day. I like kids, who can, ya know, actually do stuff. Maybe if it was my baby I'd care. And every chick I know who has a baby seems to have lost their mind. I want to unfriend some people on fb because of all the baby pictures.
