It never ceases to amaze me how people are totally ignorant of what is wrong about the IOC and its money-grabbing event. I've been enjoying the Olympics. Whether the athletes are roided up or not, I find it fascinating to watch the crazy things they put their bodies through in pursuit of medals and glory. Plus I actually enjoy sport and I'm a big football fan, so I'm just glad there's something on TV for me to watch during the off-season.

Sure the athletes are in top notch condition, but I dont see anything remarkable in sports like 100&200 metres/long jump/triple jump/high jump/pole vault and throwing (javelin, hammer, metal ball, discus). Running for 10 seconds or throwing a javelin once every 15 minutes isnt very impressive when you compare it to what soccer, american football and ice hockey players, boxers and MMA fighters have to endure.

I will admit, the gymnastics section of the Olympics is amazing. I mean, the strength, flexibility, and willpower to pull off tricks like that are astounding.
