What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Like HARLAN COUNTY, the emotion is so raw and real that I have no qualms with saying I just don't want to watch BEST BOY today.

With UP and IRON GIANT, I know it is just a story. We're talking about actual deaths and life changing decisions that would make a Syrian insurgent cry like a little girl with a scraped knee.

I don't enjoy the anguish of others, and in both BEST BOY and HARLAN, the grief is all too real. And not m.moore "it's a documentary to fit my view point and to make money", these movies simple show real life. No scripts, no planned locations, and no pulling the punches of real life (yes, m.moore movies are scripted, planned, edited to death, and have an agenda to fit m.m's personal views).

I'm rambling, but I'm also suggesting that everyone here puts both Harlan and Best on their queue.

PETA is going to raise a shitstorm with the Lady Gaga poster.

The casting is nuts, but I'm already trying to get in line for a screener. Charlie Sheen as President? Sure, why not?
The immigration gushing was a tad too strong, but it was overall just being proud of being Mexican. (I honestly wonder how well it would have went if someone made one about being proud that they are white...)

The casting is actually pretty awesome. I'm hoping if I keep spending time in Austin around Guerro's and such with my sister, Rodriguez or Tarantino will pick me up to be in one of their movies... Sheen as president, like I previously said, seems awfully realistic as something that could happen.

In a script yes.

And to clarify, I meant "nuts" in a good way.

Not to derail, but I'm not sure anyone's actually attempted a "white and proud" rally without a specific racist agenda. I'd be interested to see a completely non-negative approach to a "white pride" movement of some sort just to see the reactions.

"Mexican" is a nationality. "White" is not.

There's plenty of "proud to be American" movies.

There are groups that try to promote without being directly racist, but they don't ever get a big enough movement going. I've seen a ton of stuff about it on History Channel...

Alright, exchange "Mexican" for black, hispanic, spanish, asian, etc. My point is that nowadays its hard to say I'm white and proud without getting put down. Being a white Christian straight male in America makes it hard to say anything without you being accused of being prejudice.

I think it has something to do with "White, Chirstian Straight Male" being the vast majority. They're the group essentially with the most power.

Going on about how proud you are of that makes it seem like you're just trying to rub it in people's faces. I don't think you can do a "white pride" type thing without looking like you're just trying to undermine similar movements from minority groups.
