Smile: Finally "finished" building my first tube amplifier.

Ticked off: I bought 68ohm resistors by accident instead of 68Kohm and the amp doesn't work. It'll be functioning next week.

When I was in college, maybe.

Strike that.

Not this time though.

Smile: Went to see The Watch with a couple of buddies. They made the film funnier than it is, which I always welcome. The audience shouldn't dictate if you like a movie or not, but damned if the audience can't make something dull a good time.

Frown: A good friend of mine witnessed a shooting outside a concert at Walnut Creek and feels bad for bailing. "All I heard was a pop, and a guy about twenty feet away from me fell down bleeding. Feel like I should have done something other than run".

I keep telling him did the right thing, but I think he's mad he didn't get to play hero.

Frown: Kiddos are heading 4hrs south for "cousins week" at Grandmas...be gone (6) nights :/

Smile: I have another 1/2 dozen projects lined up and the sad truth is, I get a ton of stuff done when they're gone. Plan on building an extra video game shelf (35"H x 80"L x 6"D), a display shelf upstairs (12'L x 6" D) in the dining room, bunk beds for the boys, hang some blinds in the LL, and some trim work in the LL bathroom. That and STGT week 1 should occupy the time...

Then in 2 weeks we are having our summer vacation at Luke's in the Smokies.

So is that a "don't bother" for seeing The Watch solo?

I sat next to a friend who before made Paul Blart Mall Cop hilarious with his quips and unique laughter. So, being with an entire group of these guys could make a lot of movies seem better than they are.

But I would have to watch the movie solo to say it's not good without friends. There are some really funny parts (not really a spoiler: potato chip) but there's a lot of "I get it, it's improv". Expect to laugh hard at a few jokes, but at the same time find the characters a little obnoxious.

I would say I imagine it is better with company.
