Google fiber thread

Post by GamerMON »

I am really surprised that there isn't a thread about google fiber. All I found was this thread http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 15&t=20059 from 2010.

google.com/fiber

TV+Internet package $120 a month free install. Internet only is $70 free instal. Or the really interesting option is pay for the instal ($300) get a 5mb internet free for the next 7 yrs at least.

Thoughts? Or do you think google is on its way to becoming evil?

"On its way"?

They have been collecting personal data since day one.

My internet doesn't need to be "100 times faster". Everything seems to be instantaneous right now. Millo-nan seconds of time don't change how I watch old Kreayshawn videos on youtube.

Sony came out with Google TV a while back, now that is evil! I played with the Remote at a store unit which is a nice gadget. Thankfully with the consoles and laptops that hook up to the HDTV, consumers have a choice. Competition is always a good thing.

As for Google fiber, no need for it to me either, I am not keen on being locked to the Google server. The fiber option does sound nice, but I doubt that the fiber will go all the way to your doorstep, especially in an older or rural neighborhood.
