I think it's mostly just Zack Snyder. He's got an uphill battle to win some people over.

People don't want a "Speed up, slow motion, freeze, return to regular speed" Superman movie, and I don't blame them.

But this won't necessarily be that. Snyder makes movies that are fifteen year old fanboys wet dreams come true and Nolan movies are basically like filming a wake, so the two might make a great combination.

Although I've heard Nolan had very little input.

Oh, Robocop cast so far:

Jackie Earle Haley is signing on to star in the Robocop remake that Jose Padilha will direct with Joel Kinnaman playing the title character. Haley will play Maddox, the guy who dispenses the military training to Robocop. Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie, Samuel L. Jackson and Abbie Cornish are also set

No denying that.

Something about the build up made me from thinking the teaser (the trailer is about 2:20minutes) was okay (with LOTR music, wtf?) to making me get excited about the movie.

Whoever put this together is a smart dude. The pacing is perfect.

But yeah, it is only a teaser, so who knows what score they will use.

Tons of people are already poo pooing MAN OF STEEL, but you never know. I thought a ROBOCOP reboot was not the best idea, but than I saw the cast. Holy shit.

And fans of DESPICABLE ME will be thrilled to hear that MINIONS is already in the works, and has a very talented writer.
Well someone had a good point, I think it was in that link you sent, that the trailer using that music for SUPERMAN RETURNS was pretty sweet, so we'll just have to wait and see. I personally didn't like WATCHMEN, but I liked 300.

Yay to DESPICABLE ME news!

I liked WATCHMEN, but prefer the animated comic for some reason. I guess my reasoning is that if I'm going to sit down for over three hours I might as well read something.

Liked 300, even bought it on it's release, but can't watch it now. Same with Sin City. Not to say it is all style and no substance as Miller can be brilliant (and also not, see The Spirit) but I find the source material to be superior and don't rely on effects to tell the story. GREAT nudity in Sin City, but that doesn't make a movie great.

MINIONS is going to be great. Kind of crazy how everything unfolded. First a friend of mine gets a writing credit for DM. Then he writes the script for the DM ride at Universal which people went nuts for. At the same time he was working on the script for Minions, and both the ride and movie idea took off. So happy for the guy, he's done incredible stuff (he should be the one working on the TMNT movie) and I wouldn't be surprised if Minions is a step up from DM.

I don't think Zack Snyder really understood Watchmen.

We're on an agreement streak.

I think Snyder took great characters and turned them into comic book characters (no offense comic book lovers). They didn't have the range that the comic characters had (sorry if that is confusing and contradicting) whatsoever.

It was entertaining, but the story wasn't as told as well. I'm fine with no octopus/squid monster, but the movie could have been much more graphic.

You said it better in less words.

ho. lee. shit.

I liked the first version of the trailer, but this one just oozes Superman in every second. I literally got goosebumps and my eyes watered. (I have a soft spot for Superman 78 and Williams' theme).

Am I to understand there are two versions of it, or am I making shit up? I could have sworn the first time I heard Russel Crowe's voice, and every other time Ive heard Kevin Costner's voice.

You're not wrong. I think I like the Jor-El (Crowe) version better than the Pa Kent (Costner) version.

I just watched Law-Abiding Citizen for the first time ever. Holy shit. I mean... holy shit. I'm speechless. Consider me blown away. Not just blown away, blown right off the face of the earth. It isn't every day that I see a film like this. An absolute classic in every sense of the word. Meaningful themes, deep story, unprecedented character development, gorgeous cinematography, and powerful performances all across the board. Wow.

My Way

I don't know why critics vehemently hate this.. two and half hours of good Korean cinema. Their war films tend to be overly sentimental, but compared to their romantic comedies this is manly stuff  And it's always interesting that other countries tend to do more with less. Great special effects.
