really... that kind of sucks seeing how as how that game was the reason I bought the port. Sigh.wip3outguy7 wrote:Don't... it's a horrible port. The emulation is garbage. The game drops to about 10 fps during any kind of parallax scrolling. I can't decide which is worse on that collection, Last Resort or Shock Troopers. OK, Shock Troopers is worse. It's completely unplayable. Last Resort speeds up a bit when you fly by a single scrolling background. But seriously... break out MAME or download the Neo4All release and play it on your Dreamcast.
Or pay an arm and a leg to play it on an MVS/AES.

yeah I guess I'll have to check the NEO4ALL version on DC. That's too bad though.wip3outguy7 wrote:The game drops to about 10 fps during any kind of parallax scrolling. Decisions, decisions... I think I'll pay an arm and a leg, just to look cool. Not AES cool though, thats too cool for me.wip3outguy7 wrote: But seriously... break out MAME .

What stuff is available for Neo4all? I'd be interested to see how it compares to the real thing. Maybe to some side-by-sides. The Wii is supposed to have pretty good NG stuff on it.

Technically, anything that was released on the Neo CD should work. Older games that are less tasking on the hardware play closer to the original. Last Resort is pretty close. It ticks a bit during heavy parallax scrolling (drops maybe 2 or 3 frames), but the sound and music is rock solid. The control was spot on without any delays or lag.dunpeal2064 wrote:What stuff is available for Neo4all? I'd be interested to see how it compares to the real thing. Maybe to some side-by-sides. It's pretty playable and probably the best alternative to playing on actual hardware or on the Wii via the same Neo Geo collection. I have heard that the emulation is pretty solid.
A play by play video comparison would be awesome if someone could manage to set everything up.

Is the Shock Troopers PSN Neo Station release similarly panned?wip3outguy7 wrote:The game drops to about 10 fps during any kind of parallax scrolling. Fuck no, that version is AWESOME. Emulation is nearly flawless and it has godlike netcode to boot. It's a crime that more people haven't bought the PSN release.retrosportsgamer wrote:Is the Shock Troopers PSN Neo Station release similarly panned?

the Neo Geo Station releases on PSN are phenomenal. They're all emulated excellently and feature online co-op. Brilliant.wip3outguy7 wrote:Fuck no, that version is AWESOME. Good - because I thought it was fine and was really questioning my ability to judge if that was not the case!wip3outguy7 wrote:Fuck no, that version is AWESOME.
