Okay, it took some time, but I think I've completed all the extra quests in the Overworld.
And I got a shinny new Odin summon for my trouble

He took me out the first time, but I kicked his a$$ on the second attempt.
I'll head back to Mysidia next time. I'd play more tonight, but I've got to get up early tomorrow morning and go to work :?

Lets see....
I fought and beat Odin.
I smacked Yang with a frying pan and got the Sylph summon.
I returned the pan and got the Knife.
I gave the rat tail to the creepy guy in the grotto and he gave me Adamantite.
Then I took the Adamantite to the Smith and he took my sword and I haven't gotten it back yet.
I do not remember anything about Orichalcum..... I swear I scoured that damn Overworld for extra things to do. Did I miss it somewhere?

For a second there I was afraid I'd missed some isolated island or something.

Classics
1. Shatterhand (NES)
2. Sonic CD (PS3) COMPLETE 7/9
3. Final Fight (PS3 or Mame) COMPLETE 6/24
4. Cave Story (DS) COMPLETE 6/12
5. Ninja Gaiden Black (Xbox)
6. Jet Grind Radio (DC or PSN when released)
7. Beneath a Steel Sky (PC)

Not Classics that I want to beat before summer ends
8. Clash of Heroes (DS) COMPLETE 5/31
9. Captain America: Super Soldier (PS3) COMPLETE 7/8
10. Ben There Dan That & Time Gentlemen Please (PC) COMPLETE 7/22
11. Conan (PS3 2007) COMPLETE 7/7
12. Batman the Brave and the Bold (DS)

I love the old Sierra and Lucas Arts point and click adventure games, so I was excited to play "Ben There, Dan That" & "Time Gentlemen, Please".
Ben There, Dan That is a free game and can be considered episode 1 of a two part story. The first episode is hilarious and the dialog is top notch. The game mixes smart/puny humor flawlessly with toilet humor.
Time Gentlemen, Please is more challenging from a puzzle standpoint but not as funny. The second episode relies on too much toilet humor that it becomes an overkill and why I wouldn't consider it as humorous. With the first episode excelling in the dialog/humor department and the second installment excelling in the puzzle department, together these two parts create a fun and entertaining game.

*I will admit that I looked at a FAQ for help with two parts while playing these game. Mainly because I was rushing (like when the kids woke up from nap) and/or I was loosing my patience.

1. Monster World IV (VC)
2. Duck Tales (NES)

3. Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts (SNES)
4. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (N64)
5. Resident Evil 4 (GC)
*BEATEN*
6. Metroid Prime 3 (Wii)
7. Final Fantasy IV Advance (GBA)
8. Grim Fandango (PC)

9. Panzer Dragoon Orta (XBox)
10. Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages linked quest

Thats 7 of 11 games taken down on my summer marathon. Resident Evil 4 was a game I'm glad I played, and I enjoyed well enough, but which I've definitely decided wasn't for me. I certainly wouldnt rate it as the best Gamecube game like many do. I enjoyed the game, although I found some of the mechanics a bit dull, and I also found it could get a bit monotonous seeing as it was mostly just killing stuff with rather pathetic 'puzzles' in between - Oh, I had to use the door key on the door? Who would've guessed!

The story was cheesy but fun, and unlike Resi 5, the game didn't seem to take itself too seriously. Leon was a likeable smartass, and Ashley managed to not be as annoying as expected. As you can see from my results screen, I wasn't very good at the game, dying 48 times in my playthrough, although I'm more than willing to be that a lot of those can be attributed to quicktime events in cutscenes (this game LOVES quicktime events. I do not) or the first boss - a giant fish boss that I literally fluked my way through after retrying about 10 times.

I won't recommend the game, mostly because I think those who'd like it know already, and those who wouldn't probably do too. If you're in the middle, give it a try, but I wouldn't consider it the must-play most do. A good game overall, just not my kinda thing.

I'm planning on playing through Panzer Dragoon Orta next, so anyone else who was planning on playing that, it might be a good time to start!

Good going, folks. The Steam Summer sale and DoDonPachi Resurrection runs have collectively eaten much of my last week or so, but I hope to get on this soon. I fleshed out that final "tbd" slot with the original Need for Speed since I've never played it seriously and figure it would be a nice change of pace from the other games. Plus, it is an excuse to enjoy one of my longbox PS1 games :)

Hopefully I'll get some solid play time into my list this week.

Quick update since I will be on vacation next week - I played a couple more hours of Ninja Gaiden Black and finished chapter 9.
This game is hard as hell... I have had to battle each boss (main boss) at least three times. It took me over an hour and a half to beat the demon lady at the end of chapter 8 and about four times to beat the helicopter at the end of chapter 9. I mention this because I'm loving it. This game isn't one that you just have to move through to get from one cut scene to another, instead it is reminiscent of the good old 8 and 16 bit games where you had to play the level/stages/boss over and over to memorize the pattern AND once you got the pattern down you have to time everything perfectly or you are done for.
As much as I am wanting to throw my controller through my TV, I am loving this game.

While on vacation (camping) I will have my DS and if I do have time to play it in the evenings I will work on Batman Brave and the Bold. Since SEGA will not put out a real release date for Jet Set Radio HD, if it's not out by the time I finish NGB I will play Jet Set Radio Future on the Xbox.

I'm still plugging away at Final Fantasy IV Advance.
I'm on the moon at the moment and getting ready to head into Bahamut Cave. FuSoYa has joined the party and good lord does his MP suck. At least he's not under-leveled though, like Edge was at the beginning
I think I'm going to have to do a little bit of grinding coming up, but other than that I think everything is going smoothly.
