dreamcast shmups help

Post by mas »

I want to start picking up some smups imports for the dreamcast. Other than ebay is there any other sites that would sell these games? Right now I own giga wing 2 and i am getting gunbird 2. I will get gunbird and mars matrix later on but I want to get the imports before the prices go any higher. Right now they are ranging 60.00 and up. Any other sites besides ebay? What are the first must haves for the shmups on the dc. Thanks for any info

Gunbird 2 is one hell of a game. Congrats on the purchase, it's a good one.

http://www.play-asia.com/ is the only other site I really know of for imports, but I've never used it myself, and it may be quite expensive.

I use http://www.consolepassion.co.uk/ sometimes, but it's a UK site and I think they might only ship to the UK.
Own: Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PS Vita, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii U, Game Boy Advance, DS, 3DS, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, Xbox 360

Reprise thanks for the info. I already tried play asia and there wasn't much there. Thank you for the compliment on the gunbird 2 game. I got that and jojo's bizzare adventure for 40.00 total. It's 20 a piece but what the hell these games for the dc are great .
I own gunbird(mobile light force) for the ps1 already and I can't wait

You're welcome. Both are worth it for 20 each in my opinion. Both are fun as hell for sure.

Also check out Bangai-o. Buy it now prices for it are fairly high here in Europe, but it doesn't go too high in bids I find. Not sure what the price is like in the US, but regardless it's an awesome old school shooter. My favourite game on the Dreamcast at the moment.

Must have imports imo:

Border Down
Zero Gunner 2
Last Hope: Pink Bullets

Other fun imports that I wouldn't consider must have, but others may (some of these are available cheaper on other consoles):

Under Defeat
Castle Shikigami II (If you have a ps2, get the localization, but if not def. get this)
Triggerheart Exelica
Ikaruga
Psyvariar 2
Trizeal
Fast Striker

You should sign up on shmups.system11.org and just watch the Trading Station. DC imports pop up all the time, usually much lower than ebay prices.

Be sure to pick up Mars Matrix in time for our Shmup of the Month cometition! :)

Are you in a buying frenzy because of the potential price jump or just want to play the game? We all get the OCD in buying games and have to do a reality check. There are enough SHMUPS and games that can be gotten at a lower price. For example in your other Thread you posted about putting the PS2 away when there are numerous SHMUPS under twenty and even under five bucks!

I know, I know, I know. I called a local dealer who I usually sell my stuff and he's giving me a great deal on my ps2 collection. I'm taking the money and taking my family to a family vacation for a few days. I can't pass this up. So I am just keeping my ps1 and dreamcast and gamecube. The ps1 has a great library of shmups and so does the dreamcast. I just remembered I own ikaruga and I will get chaos field for the cube after sunday.

20 bucks each for gunbird 2 and gigs wing 2 that's a no brainer those are both highly colletable and badass. I have never played under defeat but want it. Is it good?
