That's crazy..and the movies are supposed to be a place of relaxation. I'm sure a lot of people had thier guard let down :(
Definitely the last place I would expect something like this to happen.

What's so special about that? Out of all the school shootings and massacres like this and the one in the island in Norway last year that have happened recently, pretty much all of the killers were usually above average intelligent and educated. Uneducated people do alot of spur of the moment acts of violence and crimes of passion (drive by retaliations etc), but massacres that follow a plan are usually done by educated people.

Didn't the killer use the same trick in the beginning of Scream 2? I cant remember, but I think in some horror movie the bad guy killed people in a movie theater where many people were dressed up.

WARNER BROS. PULLS "DARK KNIGHT RISES" TV SPOTS
According to ABC News, the tragic incident is the largest mass shooting in U.S. history, and although Warner Bros. initially stated that the shooting would not hinder the release of the anticipated summer blockbuster, a red carpet premiere and cast interviews in Paris have already been cancelled. Now, Variety reports the studio has pulled TV and radio spots advertising the film that were scheduled to run over the weekend.
The tragedy has caused the studio to reevaluate its entire marketing campaign, pulling millions of dollars worth of advertising in a move which may be indicative of how much the shooting will affect what is arguably Warner's biggest film of the year.
Sources report that in some cases, "The Dark Knight Rises" television spots will be replaced by advertisements for other Warner Bros. or Time Warner products."

It's already begun.
A modest proposal: could midnight screenings be suspended? First, for reasons of security; there are always troubled or idiotic souls who dream of fomenting repeats of a public disaster, though they seldom succeed. Second, because those screenings, starting when most people are in bed, often have a crazed and hallucinated air, which is all part of the game to those who enjoy them—anyone who has driven to a theatre to fetch teen-aged Harry Potter devotees, as they wander out in costume at three o’clock in the morning, can attest to that weary delirium—but which, right now, seems volatile, ominous, and redundant.

I wonder what this is going to do to the batman franchise? I really hope that they don't ruin the comics or film or games etc. The guy is calling himself as the joker. Batman is my favorite character in all of the comic world. And this "joker" a@@hole just destroyed lives and family's was didn't care like the joker would. I hope he rots in hell. I also really hope they bury him and not makes movies or books or anything like that so he gets more attention. Maybe there is a guy the size of bane wants to show the joker what pain is really all about in prison

I'd actually go as far as to say it may give it some momentum, as bad as that sounds. Seeing as the Joker is coming back to the comics in a big way this year, something like this could make people curious...

I don't like saying it, but I have that feeling.

Yerp.

Besides the fact that the crew involved can not gloat on the movie's success.

"Largest mass shooting in US History"? Sensationalism. How easy is it to be a reporter these days. Did we already forget the VA Tech massacre?

For fucks sake. Who edits this shit?

Seriously, it pushes my buttons when someone just makes up bullshit to capitalize on the murder of innocents.

Negative publicity is what runs this damn country.

For fucks sake...every single day I hear the words "Treyvon Martin" yet in cities all over the world people are being killed daily.
