OK so I had to post this because there's likely gonna be a part two to this in a couple of weeks, so here's part 1:

Anyway, so I contacted a guy on Craigslist because he had a bunch of video game stuff for sale. He didn't list any prices or list specifics, just said along the lines of "I have N64, SNES, GAMECUBE, PS2, PS1, WII STUFF, ETC.". So I texted him, then talked to him on the phone. Turns out all this stuff he had used to belong to his girlfriend's mom, who had a video game store that closed, so he basically got the leftover inventory. I ask him about the SNES stuff, lists a bunch of loose games (mostly common titles, sports games, a couple of weird ones, etc.), and a few sealed CIB games (Populous, Vegas Stakes, NFL Quarterback Club 96). Loose games are 5 bucks, the complete ones are 10. I'm like ok. I ask him about more stuff, not too much exciting stuff, except for that he had a sealed Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past + 4 Swords for the GBA. That one he was asking 20 bucks. OK. So I meet up with him, he shows me the games I want. I buy the ones I want, and told him that I would contact him in about a couple of weeks so I may want to buy a few other things.

Anyway, here's the first 2 games I got for 5 bucks a piece:

Never heard much of Arkanoid until I watched Pat the NES Punk play the NES version during his marathon because he talked about the controller for it. Never knew there was an SNES version. Oddly enough I did play a Breakout clone like it for the PC called Ricochet back in the olden days of pre-Facebook college. Arkanoid, Doh It Again (heh heh heh D'oh heh heh heh) is pretty decent.

I never had SF II the World Warrior. My cousin did back in the day. However I had the later (and superior) versions, so I never thought much to get this one, but eh, the guy had 3 copies of them so I took the nicest looking one. Not bad, but I can see why people like the later versions more.

But here's where I had to bite and take these for 5 bucks each:

The guy had 2 copies of Super Mario Kart, and this....was the better looking one. The other, which was an original version, had a torn label and looked like it did a few kart battles itself. The copy of ALTTP.....never thought I would see that for cheap. It did have those silver rental stickers on the sides. Used a sponge to get rid of them. Of course I have these games already, but why did I get them anyway? Cause they're cheap, and I'm gonna use these for trade bait.

And just for the hell of it, here's the original price tags on all 4 games:

You can take a guess which game matches each price tag...

So like I said, there's likely gonna be a part two because the guy had other stuff I was interested in. We'll see...

I did not know this. Now...to find a truly reliable mouse...

I have 3, all perform admirably for Mario Paint, slow, methodical, functional.

Mario to Wario, not so much.

Resident Evil 0 and Xonox double-ender cart were $2 each. RE0 was from a separate garage sale and the double-ender cart was found at a local video game store. This particular double-ender isn't worth much but it was an oddity so I picked it up.

The rest of the stuff was found at a single garage sale through craigslist. The guy advertised that he had games but offered no additional information. So I got there and he was just taking the games out so I had first dibs. Unfortunately missed out on stuff like Chrono trigger and FFIII CIB because he decided he didn't want to sell them, as well as Mega Man X and a OGB Harvest Moon CIB because of some other collector who was super grabby and started hoarding games before the guy even set down the stack...

Anyway, so I grabbed all the Nintendo stuff and started inspecting them, condition was immaculate for everything. The picture I took makes the edges look frayed, but it's just because the flash picked up on the cardboard tabs on the corners. They are all 9/10 condition in my book. The N64 Zeldas and Pokemon Blue were sans cart, but since I have all those cart only I popped them in and made them all complete. Link's Awakening is the less common plastic insert version, so a huge plus there. I paid $30 for all the Nintendo stuff you see on the screen, save the Pokemon Blue and OOT and MM carts I popped in myself. I'm very happy with how I made out, but it would have been so incredible to pick up Chrono Trigger and FFIII CIB...someday though!

I do have a spare OoT box as a result of this pickup though, so if anybody reading this is interested, pop me a PM and we can work something out. Just looking for like $7+ shipping...nothing massive. Box isn't perfect but it's not ripped anywhere, just some fraying and mild bending.

I'd be interested in that OOT box, if it's the collector's edition (with gold foil)

I have the game, but sadly not the box, and the boxed copy I do have is the standard edition one.

Unfortunately it's just the standard edition box. I'm still on the lookout for the collector's edition myself! Sorry man.

Wow, free and working! How is the screen, any bad burn in?

Is this cab already wired for JAMMA? If so, I'd say just leave it, but if not, maybe think about converting it into a JAMMA cab. You really can't beat good ol JAMMA :)
