I've seen people like this before, and they just do the same things we do, just dressed a little differently.
Yep. Pretty much accurate.

is the 83 in your username indicative of your birth year? we're about the same age if that's the case. i like that people who grew up in the same gaming environments keep finding sites like this.

hah! i hardly feel like i'm the oldest one here but i definitely feel the effects of generational shift sometimes. my six year old son and five year old nephew are just now getting into genesis games i had as a kid (same carts even) and it's making me feel a lot older than i am. watching them play sonic 3 and say "this is just like sonic generations!" is pretty surreal.

My five year old is obsessed with the DS, and the Ps2 for some odd reason. Ps3 just hangs out, and he says no he wants the older ps2..weird

I saw a ton of great games at the local Deseret Industries thrift store today. Mostly very common but good ones for NES (Marios, Castlevanias), SNES (Marios, Zelda, Metroid, DKCs) and GBA but priced a little bit too high ($8) to try to resell or trade and I generally try to avoid buying any more duplicates but damn it was good to see so much good stuff in the store after having not found much of anything for last few months. Hopefully someone else will pick them up and enjoy them.

I did buy a couple games though:
Image
Iron Tank (NES - $3.00) - This seems like a somewhat inaccurate recreation of the Normandy Invasion. I had never heard of this game before. It's a lot like Konami's Jackal, but not as good. It's alright though.
Gauntlet (NES - $3.00) - I was surpised to know I didn't already have this.
Dudes With Attitude (NES - Unlicensed AVE - $2.00) - Very strange puzzle game. It's completely bonkers and makes no sense whatsoever. I love it. This game doubled my collection of unlicensed NES games (Not counting Tengen).
Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones (NES - $3.00) I love beat'em ups and I love Double Dragon. Feels great to still find want list games in the wild every once in a while.
Image
Exertainment Mountain Bike Rally (SNES - $3.00) I know the exercise bike is rare (I did look for it) but I thought the cartridge itself was somewhat valuable as well. It's not. I guess it's a combo cart with Speed Racer that's worth quite a bit.
Natsume Championship Wrestling (SNES - $2.00) I collect wrestling games and hadn't played this one before. It's pretty good.
Aerobiz (Genesis - complete! - $2.00) A somewhat uncommon Genesis game. I like strategy games but have never enjoyed a KOEI one. This one seems unique though, so maybe it will be okay. The box and manual look good, especially for a former rental copy, but look what they did to the cart!

Ugh!
