What an absolutely appalling thread. I feel drained reading it.

As I recall, in the thread that followed Inazuma's banning, mjmjr25 stated that lurkers and potential forum users would be put off by the intensity of his comments. Truth be told, if I was a lurker and this was one of the first threads I saw I would high-tail it out of here. There's plenty of other gaming forums that don't have mods that hold such threatening prejudices. The fact that someone with said beliefs holds a position of power here (and thus has the power to ban me, edit my posts, etc) is deeply troubling, and I honestly question if it's even worth it for me to stay here.

I suppose I could state my own thoughts about the matter, but I think harper and General_Norris (and even MrPopo who I generally disagree with) have already summed up things pretty well. Plus, anyone who pays attention is aware of my political/ideological persuasion by now. Perhaps I'll add more later, should I chose to return to this site anytime in the near future, but I have class now.

Hey now, I will not have you slandering mjmjr25's ability to be a moderator based on his religious views. While it's obvious that him and I see the world in completely different ways he has done a fantastic job as a moderator and has not tried to use his powers to push an agenda of his own; he enforces the rules set down for the forum and nothing more.

In case you think this is a goofy and pointless post from someone who hasn't read this thread, feel free to ignore it...

How does his Christian beliefs have any relation to his position as a moderator? And how are those beliefs "threatening"?

Yeah, that's quite the leap of logic Bone. In fact, mjm's ability to keep the tone mostly civil means that he knows how to comport himself on a forum. When MrP called Jesus a "dick" or When I said his views on the power of faith were "bullshit" he responded with public criticism of the word choice, not censorship of the actual words.

Fair enough. I'm not questioning his modding (is that even a word?) ability. I don't think he's going to start banning gay people or any such nonsense. He's done a find job and yes, I do like mjmjr25 despite his seemingly authoritarian political beliefs.

"Slander" would only be applicable here if I insinuated that mjmjr25 has or would absuse his modding power, I don't think he has or will. Perhaps I didn't articulate it probably, but the simple fact that someone with prejudiced views holds a position of power at a site I frequent makes me feel deeply uncomfortable. That's all there is to it.

No response necessary for this; this is my last RB post.

I'll miss ya. I've always enjoyed you're posts. But if you ask me, this seems like a silly thing to leave over, especially since you said yourself he hasn't abused his power nor do you think he will.

And please, do stay. There's already enough people here I don't like and / or vice versa. I'd rather the ones I do like stay. Keep things balanced so to speak. Heh...
