I am debating whether or not to get the Pokemon Season 1 box set. I mean, the nostalgia factor would blow my mind, but I just don't know if the show holds up well enough to justify the purchase. Any thoughts?

Watch one episode on youtube first, judge for yourself.
Is that a 3DS XL in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me? ~ZeroAX

Pretty goood suggestion. Just don't watch anything past Johto, after that point the show gets too formulatic and starts getting monotonous.

My younger siblings were watching the show recently... if you can still bring yourself to enjoy '80s action cartoons, you'll still like Pokemon. Looking at it without nostalgia, it might be less enjoyable to someone older than 10.

I really can't stand to watch a new episode of the show. The old characters are gone, the animation style is different, the character designs are different, and the voice actors are different, but the same old plots are still being reused.
Season one would probably be alright. You can't rehash something until you've done it once.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.
