I personally have always like the nes top loader better due to the fact It always works and i never need to blow on it or clean it much. I think it was a much needed upgrade from the first model grey nes.
also after a while of have to take cart in and out and blow and clean it's a nice change. As for the grey model really if you keep them clean they tend to work well i have had some where the screen was just green no game-play and with a little tlc it worked like a champ

The extremely high price plus the fact that its RF only makes the toploader one really not worth it if you ask me.dreamcast4ever83 wrote:I personally have always like the nes top loader better due to the fact It always works and i never need to blow on it or clean it much. Everyone believed this myth that the flashing screen had to with dust on the contacts which was maybe 5% of the problem. Blowing on the carts just makes it worse over time since you are spitting on the contacts (even if you don't think you are, there is always moisture in your breath) and allowing more corrosion to happen.dreamcast4ever83 wrote:Thats waht everyone did when i was a kidKDub wrote:You should never be blowing into your NES or into your carts.dreamcast4ever83 wrote: to blow on it

My current nintendo works but does blink quite a bit and is really picky about where the cart is put. Mind you my games are almost perfect and new so. should i boil it? or clean it with a q-tip?
