[PS2] Seaman 2 (CIB) - 105 yen ($1.30)
[PS2] Seaman w/ seamic (CIB) - 750 yen ($9.37)
[Saturn] Nights (surprisingly CIB w/ obi) - 250 yen ($3.13)
[Saturn] Christmas Nights (CIB) - 250 yen
[Saturn] Panzer Dragoon II Zwei (No obi) - 250 yen
[Saturn] 3D Control Pad (no box, but in great shape aside from what I assume is dirt on the d-pad) - 750 yen
[Xbox 360] Infinite Undiscovery (Complete) - 105 yen
[Xbox 360] Usb Wireless LAN Receiver (no frills) - 950 yen ($11.88)

Total: 3410 yen ($42.63)

Passed up on a free white saturn (console only) and famicom + disc system for 600 yen (consoles only). If the saturn hadn't been yellowed I probably would have taken it. With the famicom, I didn't really want to bother tracking down cords for them to try to test/fix them.
New to Japan, or retro collecting in Japan, I take it?

You overpaid on NiGHTS, Christmas NiGHTS and the Saturn 3D pad. The games should be 105 each, and the Saturn pad for between 105 and 525. Buy game stuff at Hard-Off; not Book-Off. Book-Off prices their stuff higher.

Also, the Disk System didn't come with any cords. You just need the RAM adapter; available in junk bins at Hard-Off for cheap. Nintendo never included a power adapter with the FDS. They expected people to use batteries. Of course, at 600yen, there's a good chance it was broken in some way (belt, probably).

Helpful tips!

So... ummmm... I got a PSone today with PSU (and AV) for $9.99 plus tax. I thought it was worth buying, since it had the PSU. Now I need to be on the lookout for matching controllers and memory cards, and then I'll need to mod it to play JP games.

The latter.
I'm not really about to sweat 290 yen, but where have you seen them for 105 yen? Generally I don't bother with book-off at all, but I was looking for the aforementioned PSP game, and that particular Book-off has some retro stuff.
Also, I've only seen really junked up 3D pads even approach those costs. Then again, I haven't been to Hard-off at all.

Interesting.
It was actually 300 for the famicom and 300 for the disk system, but they were sitting in a hallway outside Super Potato with their other junk items. (There was also a Super Famicom for the same price in much worse cosmetic condition.) I imagine they're gone by now, but I'm not really that interested in nintendo systems anyway. I was just debating it because the price was pretty low, and they may have been fixable/Frankenstein's Monster-able.

Never heard of Hard Off, but then I have not been to Japan for quite some time. Are they the same store? I have been to a few BookOffs in the U.S., are there any HardOffs here?

If you are in Japan and getting retro game stuff, you NEED to go to some Hard-Off stores when you have the time. You will be blown away.

Don't bother with that stuff from Super Potato if you live in Japan. That place is for tourists and in case you can't find what you want elsewhere. It's a great place to look around, but you can do a lot better price-wise if you shop around outside of Akihabara. The only probably is that you need the time to go to those out of the way places, so you pretty much have to live in Japan to take advantage. Seriously, go to Hard-Off. There is one not that far from Minami Urawa Station, Hatogaya Station (accessible from the Namboku Line), Higashi Tokorozawa Station, Omiya Station, Tachikawa Station and Hachioji Station. Those are probably the closest to Tokyo, give or take. Seriously, go there and bring a backpack.

I was actually at the Super Potato in Ikebukuro, and only to see if they still had the saturn arcade stick pro. Every now and again they have some decent stuff, though, like the sealed copy of Space Channel 5 I picked up for 105 yen. Their website actually has some pretty incredible deals at times too, although it can be a bit of a crap shoot in terms of condition.

I've pretty much gotten everything I'd really had my heart set on getting, but I'll take a trip to Hard-off just to poke around. I know there was one in Machida when I used to live out that way, but I always associated Hard-off more with clothes and musical instruments and such.

It's part of the same company. There's a couple other XXXX-offs also, I believe. At least, I think I remember a green sign-ed version.
Might be some Hard-offs in California, maybe.

EDIT: Looks like it might just be Book-offs in the US. I can imagine opening a store called "Hard-off" might be pretty tough for a recycle store in an English speaking country.

^ You're really on a roll lately with the PS2 games.

Oh, and the figurines. I think I'm more jealous of the figurines.

The blue of the cases or the artwork / spine? I personally love see all the spines on a shelf in uniform.
