Either they didn't care about the timeline in place or it is being retconned.

It was in the anime and in the first game (game story below).
"According to the scientific logs found in the Pokémon Mansion of Cinnabar Island, Mewtwo was born of a pregnant Mew, found deep in the jungles of Guyana, whose embryo had been tampered with to alter its DNA. It was held and studied in the mansion where the scientists, including Blaine and Dr. Fuji, performed horrific gene-splicing experiments that made it vicious and extremely powerful. It eventually broke free of the Mansion (destroying it in the process) and fled. It can be encountered in Cerulean Cave, which is unable to be accessed until after a Trainer has proven his or her skill at Indigo Plateau."

So I'm guessing a MewTwo is a naturally occurring Pokemon but just one of those rarities? Like a white tiger or something. :P

I don't think the Pokemon timeline, if there is such a thing, is supposed to be taken seriously.

No...it was created via DNA experiments in the modern era.

Lol, no way, totally doing my doctorate on the evolution of pokemon! 8)

I did want to make some notes regarding the game as I haven't found any info online with it. Regarding Warlords and high pokemon links. So far the only info shows their 100% pokemon but not any of the others around in the wild that are a good match.

Player - Shinx/Luxio (although it seems like almost any Pokemon is a good match for him/her)
Oichi - Joltik
Ginchiyo - Joltik

Kanto/Hoenn
Unova aka Isshu
Johto/Sinnoh
B&W2

Is it really that hard?

Yeah this game is completely non-canon to the rest of the series, in case it wasn't obvious from the fact that that Oda Nobunaga is in it, considering that he's most definitely not a fictional character.

This game is amazing though! Some of the matches are incredibly frustrating though, like the psychic warlord, where it's a huge pain in the ass just to get to your opponent before the time runs out!

I've been dying for a Pokemon turn-bases strategy game for years, and this pretty much hits the nail on the head, I hope it does well enough for a sequel!

Yeah! Hate that map. The best solution was to go after the earth/fire guys
first as they say you aren't strong enough and send you packing with out a battle. They come back and fight you on your own map, beat them then you fight them at their castle. Once you beat that castle the psychic guy joins you with out a battle!

Yeah I found the best solution, at least for me and my particular team, was to not try to chase my opponents, but let them come to me, since they're pretty predictable as to where they go. Then it's just a matter of having the proper initial setup, and quickly sweeping the various minions, then making a mad dash to get the remaining flags, and deal with the beastly Gallade. Pain in the ass, but doable.

Interesting, sounds like a battle I might have lost or had a tough time with. I didn't really have anything very good to take down some psychic types. Worked easier to take on the rocktype. One attack from my gyrados and he was out.

Is it just me or are most of Nobunaga's guys super easy? So far I took out two in a row and had no trouble. I admit my team is over 2000 in power but seems like being the boss's minions they'd still be challenging a bit? Still got two guys left so maybe they'll be the tougher ones.
